Pour Over Coffee
Pour over coffee (Hand-drip coffee) Is a traditional brewing method that uses a standard coffee drip where water is “poured over” ground coffee. The purpose of this method is to preserve the fresh and flavor rich notes that are missed out with normal coffee makers.
The story of
The brewing method was started by Amalie Auguste Melitta Bentz in 1908, who was unsatisfied with the dreadfully bitter taste from her percolator. Melitta experimented with different ways to brew coffee and one of it was using blotting paper from her son’s school book and a brass pot punctured with a nail. This new pour over brewing technique was then introduced to the public.
