Can you use the calendar page overtop of the customizable calendar page and keep the links?
Yes! If you add the jpeg file or lasso, copy and paste the elements from the Goodnotes file and place over an existing page in your planner, the links will still work. 😊
So you touched on some things in this video that I’ve had questions on. Namely Goodnotes files vs PNGs.
But I still have some questions. I’m wondering if maybe you could do another video and elaborate on a few things. For reference, I use Goodnotes on an iPad mini.
I have only been downloading the Goodnotes file. Are you saying in this video that I should also be downloading the PNG file because there might be situations where I’d want to use those instead? If I’m importing the Goodnotes file to Goodnotes would I leave the PNG file stay in the Files app? If I’m importing the Goodnotes file to Goodnotes, can I delete it out of the Files app? Is there any benefit to keeping files in the Files app as opposed to the Goodnotes app? Thanks for all your helpful videos AND all the beautiful stickers!
You can absolutely use only the Goodnotes files (for both the pages and the stickers) and be totally fine. 😊 I recommend saving a copy of whatever files you upload to Goodnotes on your device or in cloud storage (or a thumb drive). It's better to be safe than sorry.
There are some instances when you may prefer to use the jpeg or pdf pages instead of the Goodnotes files. For example, if you want a flattened page to plan on (either to add on top of an existing page or before/behind another page in your planner). Without having to worry about accidentally selecting elements while editing new ones.
The only png files you may want to keep on your device are the date overlay stickers. I was unable to add them to a Goodnotes Sticker book as they ended up being too small to see.
The only time you may opt to keep your files separate is if Goodnotes starts lagging/misbehaving 😉 some people find it easier to store the png's in their files and split-screen plan with Goodnotes. Personally, I prefer using the Goodnotes sticker books.
