    Manual itself says to set it up 10-20 ft from any dwelling. Does duromax not even follow its own guidance?

    I don’t know anything about this things, but is it safe, having the gas hook-up right behind the gas? My thinking: Seems like there could be a chance for a spark coming in close approximation to the gas? Please help me. Thanks.

    If power goes off a month, am I good bc my home is a tiny home. No washer, water heater is propane. Biggest pull, apartment size Frigidaire
    Refrigerator. I rarely run a 5000 but small ac. Most lamps are USB ran bulbs. If you answer, Thank you, I need this on hot days. Tennessee has been wout rain until last week. Many days over 90. I thank you, tons!

      One of our DuroMax Inverter Generators would be an excellent choice. In addition to being more quiet, and fuel efficient we imagine it would be perfect.

    So where did you fill the gas???? or can you hook up a seperate natural or other type tank to hold the fuel???? im not sure how this is done. What was the cost of the generator???

    • @DuroMaxPower
      @DuroMaxPower  6 місяців тому

      The fuel tank is up on top of the unit, then the natural gas line accepts it from your municipal meter. The XP13000HXT Tri Fuel Generator retails for $2499

    Not sure about your area but where I live you can't have any generator within 15' of any door or window. Where I wanted mine was too close to the bathroom window. Inspector made us replace the double hung window with a solid frame window. That cost $400.

    • @DuroMaxPower

      I have a Harbor Freight Predator 9000 with a NG conversation kit installed. It is setup exactly like in the video, but it will not run my drier, or my AC unit. I've read that if I ground the generator, it will work more efficiently. So I need to try that step next time I bring it out. I've had it about 3 years and I haven't even ran thru the break-in hours yet. Also, I run it NG only. I've never put gasoline in it.

    • @bobbygene8274

      No. Natural gas will do about 60% (+/-) of what gasoline will do. Not as much energy per BTu.

    Idk, I see more and more of these videos where DIY'ers are making gas connections, 50 amp inlet box setups that they built from Home Depot, and I guess more power to you (pun intended), but man, if you get ONE thing wrong you can kill yourself and all the people you love in the blink of an eye. I guess the safest thing to do is to contact your gas utility and your power company when doing these upgrades, which I admire, and make sure they are done correctly and if you have to permit and get inspected, do so. Risking your life is not worth the permit fee and inspection. Stay safe everyone.

    For the people that don’t have the money to have a box like this, put on the outside of their house if you turn off the main breaker coming into the house and into the panel, you will not back feed into the powerlines so therefore you can plug your generator into your either dryer receptacle plug or if you have an electric stove, you can plug it into that outlet. Just make sure the breaker on the top of your breaker panel is shut off otherwise you’re endangering thousands of lives if you don’t.

    • @stephen4763
      @stephen4763 2 місяці тому

      That’s what the transfer-switch setup is for. I had one installed for my generator. No - you never want to put power onto the MAIN power company network. That can hurt or kill a lineman. The transfer switch safely allows one to run the power from your generator into your home so power never goes onto the MAINS.
