Great New Trains! Unlucky for me, I was going to go on these trains, but they started service the day after I left Brisbane to return home to Sydney! Oh well, have to wait until next time!
Judith Rex Yeah I know! Some stations not only have huge steps but are far away from the platform. They need to upgrade a lot of stations to make them safer.
TRAINing the world my video took a month, unfortunately I can't blame my internet for it, although it did nearly take 20 hours to upload so maybe I can a little
there acctuly not too bad btw ive been seating on one for like over 30 mintues from central to shorncliffe in the past and there acctuy quite good there not the best but defintly not the worst for me the worst is the imu 120
Looks like they've locked open the inter-car doors. I wonder what the timeline is for introducing more sets into service, seeing as the Commonwealth Games is just over 4 months away.
Nathan. Yeah I only noticed the doors when I was editing the video. Next time I get on an ngr I will have to take a closer look. I would say they will try to get as many as they can running.
And the minds that is bubbling as it has been through, in the heads of disability activists is ‘How could these new trains possibly still be running in that type of configuration?’ I mean it would be a shame to put them out of play prematurely considering they have a fully costed rectification plan on the table. That way the issues of several new trains still in the sheds can be ironed out while some trains are operating in their current configuration. While we have to understand the greviances of the fiasco they are having to be enduring, I would consider it a far more feasible than the Sydney-centric human rights commission’s short-sighted plan to leave commuters stranded with decade old technology for at least another five years.
Quite odd how the handstraps aren't throughout the train - immediately encouraging congregation around the doors. This goes against the newer train designs in Perth and Melbourne. In addition - the 2 doors per car immediately encourages dwell. The way the seats are designed also discourages maximum use of space. I just can't see how these trains are going to be effectively used during the Commonwealth games (the old "interurban vs suburban concept is a drawback to the 20th century when the Gold Coast was a holiday town). Trains are designed to move people - you just can't have this mismatch of trying to keep seating arranged with this half arrangement of standing areas - it's either one or the other.
Matt Farr the handstraps are near the exits as people tending to ride shorter distances on fuller trains stand up. Morning rush hour you see many workers doing this
Lachcon 275 Lifts no not at the moment, just a few are operating on the Gold Coast/ Airport line and I have seen them operate on the Doomben to park road line.
Won't take long before grubs start vandalizing these new trains as well, I don't catch trains anymore because I drive and doesn't suit my work schedule but it's a shame that people have no respect for others property

Lachcon 275 Lifts they are starting to withdraw the emus slowly
I have heard EMU-01 will be preserved at the workshops rail museum
0:52 qr EMU sets
Yep they only have another 3 years left of service from now.
Harish's Metro and Suburban emus sets in back round I meant to say not the NRG
pity they come here on a leaking boat full of mould and not cleaned properly.
MCCCXXXVII They should have built them in Australia or in a country that knows how to screw things together.
@@trainingtheworld5093 used to build them in Maryborough, but Cambell Newman said no to these trains being built here.
Whats with the hideous graphics?
