The same thing happened when I was about 5 to 6 years old. A guy in our society used to touch me to my inappropriate body parts and then threaten me to not tell anyone, especially my parents, or else he would kill my parents. Just being afraid I never told anyone about what I faced. Now I have 2 kids and I guided my elder son to tell me if someone touches him inappropriately and threatens him that he will kill his parents. Kindly educate your children about these things. Thanks!
My mom's cousin did this to me. I was in 5th class. They both threatened me to not tell it to anyone. I told it to my mumani and mom and went to my mom's cousin's home. I told everything to their mom. Uske bd unka jo hua wo khud hi jantay hain. Also once in train a married man kissed me on my cheek. I was in class 10th. I screamed and shouted and called the police. Police threw him out of that coach.

My childhood flashed before my eyes when we were not even safe in our homes, harassed by close relatives! I think it happens to most of the 90s kids.. Because our parents had too much trust on their rishtaydar.. May Allah Tala protect our kids from such predators and may we not make the same mistakes our parents did in their innocence.

This should remind everyone of how life-saving it is to have BOUNDARIES in our daily lives. It could be summed up like this:
* We all need to read the Quraan with translation (otherwise, we´ll be a bunch of jaahil Muslims just having the house decorated with the Quraan, but never implementing it)
* We need to EMPOWER our daughters so that staying in a marriage with a predator or criminal never becomes their only choice for survival
* NEVER let any relative (even older child cousins) be alone with each other in a room. Older kids CAN harass the younger ones, or play bad games with them that both don´t really understand, but the elder cousin learnt from a predator
* Have CLEAR boundaries in your house. NO UNCLES KHAALO OR ELDER COUSIN being allowed to enter the rooms where girls are or even young boys. Predators KNOW how to gain your trust and sexual abuse is usually carried out by a close relative!
* Not only BELIEVE your children, but watch them CLOSELY and don´t let them be tickled or hugged by anyone. TEACH your children to never be alone, but RUN AWAY when a relative asks them to stay in a room or to open a door
* Teach your children respect for elders WITH the power to say NO. No child should be afraid of telling on an elder
