Yeah I’m new to the game and the first couple games I got in I knew this games mechanics is super complicated and competitive so I hoped on to UA-cam to find tutorials like these
Didn't know about spotting with gun mantlet.
Me neither but that isnt logic.... because the gun cant spot a tank its the gun sight and cupolars that do that but its world of pay logic

Great video! I didn't think of the idea of spotting with your gun mantlet but I'll be using that for sure now
yea that's a pretty weird idea considering some tanks only can spot with their hull
Kurt Jakins I think low profile TD cannot spot with gun manlet but most high TD, Meds and HEAVIES can.

Learned about something called a "Minimap" Kappa.
After 4 Year playing WoT, now i know how it work the spotting
no, you dont, becaus it does NOT work as its explained here. this is just the coverup, the original idea that was never actually really working like this

But one question I do have. Does a spotter in a bush have less view range to an enemy tankbecause practically there is a bush between him and the tank?

Something important left out of the video: Getting within 50 meters of an enemy tank is an automatic mutual detection, regardless of LoS.

Well finally you got these tutorials done that should have been avaliable 5 years ago.
Only missing the bush-mechanic with the 15m rule so you don´t get spottet while firing if you are 15m behind a bush.

That might explain why I sometimes have the feeling of being spotted by the front wheel of an enemy tank, but I still feel like these mechanics are a bit questionable and that the spotting system definitely has its flaws.
it does not have flaws, it has rigging, the spotting does not work as explained here, it is biased by soft rigging helping one and pushing down the other

What i really wanna know is what deside that we have a ammorack.
Is there a shaped box inside the tank that if that gets hit that there is a **% chance that we get ammoracked or blow up.
Maybe it is a round bulb and that how closer we get to the middle the bigger the change is to hit the ammo box?
I hope we get an episode for that :D

This didn't help. I stay in bushes and I get spotted. Someone drives like a maniac but they stay invisible for me.
If its Blitz thats simply cause it sucks and mechanics are prolly different, if its not blitz then again prolly mechanics
yes the maps in blitz are too small if you're playing on pc then it's probably a light tank hiding in a bush

i clicked cause i wanted to know how to calculate effective camo xD. just at the end it looks like it's about to go into it then says "that's all 4 today folks, join us next time". However the checkpoint thing is interesting glad to learn something new!

Sometimes I wonder how bushes work, I tend to believe that there are rare bushes providing no camo, or removed bushes still providing some camo. I had one case year ago when I was unable to spot AT15 peeking behind rock at 250m before he fired and there was no bush.
And how the bushes are represented, is it sphere, cube, rectangle projected into line of sight, rough 3d model or what? Cause obviously JgPzE100 can fully hide into somewhat smaller bush and I believe that visibility checks needs to be simple to reduce load on servers.

I'am a Beta player my self. Still i havent payed much attention to some details. As an example is the detail about the spoting points. Or the reference ones. So that was much helpfull. Thats a nice move wg. Just watch out what the players need and we all gonna be alright!

Didn't they add a "visibility check point" to the end of gun barrels? So that if you hide in a bush with the gun poking out, you get spotted. I think Jingles mentioned this too

I don't get it. first spotting (behind a rock), if you want to spot you will need to move your tank further to expose your check point so that you can start spotting. But the second spotting, even you are fully covered in the bushes, you still able to spot. And for your additional information, last time even i bring down all the trees and hide in there still I'm able to be spotted by the enemy. This video is not helping me..

i just saw this the other day on a maintenence day and my scouting has gotten wuite good...people whine about me sitting in a bush but im alive to clean up at the end and we win mroe often than not....my view range is 485 and climbing once i get some more perks with my crew.

I think Sixth sense needs a buff ,the improved spotting mechanics made the game more dynamic ,should't Sixth Sense be buffed ?
WOT Blitz players driving the Leopard needs to watch this. They are all superhero's in their own eyes, running smack dead into 5+ tanks thinking they are helping the team.
I wish they had a realistic or hardcore mode. This system can be bizarre with tanks start disappearing
