Driving in Germany: Autobahn A67 & A5 E35 from Rüsselsheim to Weinheim

In this video you can drive along on the A67 and A5 Autobahn from Rüsselsheim (Frankfurt am Main region) to Kreuz Weinheim near Heidelberg / Mannheim. Later in the video it starts raining and you can see how it can lead to very dangerous situations.
On rainy days like these the Autobahn can be very tedious to drive. The water doesn't run off the asphalt well, especially the concrete slabs are a pain. These layers of water cause aquaplaning and very poor visibility. Slower drivers tend to overtake on unlimited stretches at a much lower speed, causing a lot of sudden braking and trains in the left lane.
A possible alternative could be more porous asphalt that 'absorbs' the majority of water. This is probably more expensive to construct and also doesn't last as long in countries with harsh winters. This so-called 'ZOAB' asphalt is the norm in the Netherlands, where it's relatively rare to have such layers of water on the motorway.
