Come on we played against France the previous year (1997) . We even drew 1-1 with them . The biggest mistake we made was not selecting Neil Tovey ,who was captain since day one when we were readmitted to FIFA .
They should have fielded the usual team, we received the whooping. This was the turning point in south African football coz we were never the same after the world cup
