    This June I'll be 5 years Vegan and my straight up from Mexico mexican boyfriend who likes home cooked Mexican food eats meat. Now we live together and I cater to my man. My man will be my side through thick and thin, he's my provider, he's a family man and he's my best friend. My point being Veganism isn't going to give me all that so my partnership first then veganism. I'm vegan and he eats meat and we're madly in love. ❤

    I've been very slowly becoming plant base for 7 years ! At first it was just '' let's have one meal without meat each week'', and I slowly added more. Last month, I ate porc at my sister and I did not like it at all. I felt very bad , physically and mentally. The day after that, I saw a movie with animal torture , I cried my eyes out and said ''that's it, i'm not eating meat anymore''. Last week we had a family reunion and they realised I brought my home made falafel instead of eating sausage. I told them I'm plant base. People had opinion 😆 Some were curious and asked genuine question and other were ''oh my god, your going to die, you need protein ''🤣 But it's ok, i'm doing what's good for me and I dont need to bring people on the good side of the force with me !!

      There is nothing more off-putting than a vegan who tries to make activists feel bad for doing effective outreach. Showing people that their actions don't align with their moral values is really important and people will call you militant for being sincere and honest. Nothing wrong with passionately defending animals from abuse.

    • @samarasha3781
      @samarasha3781 8 місяців тому +1

      @@GoVeganForTheAnimalI see your point about passion, but I think realistically while it’s important to raise awareness and not let things sink too far back, human beings are naturally very defensive creatures, especially when it comes to decisions that feel personal, and subconsciously make them feel like they’re defending their whole family, or their loved ones, from being labelled as immoral or bad. It’s so natural for people to not respond well, to being called a murderer 😂 The style of activism where you’re constantly placing animals feelings over your friends or families, or constantly redirecting every conversation to one about your message etc, can be very off putting and can distance you from people in your life who feel berated. You can only help change the bad habits of people in your life… if they’re in your life, and you don’t drive them away. Of course, this method gets through to some people, but realistically in the blur of human life with all the struggles and obstacles we already face day to day, sometimes a softer approach is so appreciated, and more effective in the long term.

    Hello from Boise Idaho ! My husband is not vegan , we had the same struggles we were married first and I found vegan after 6 years marriage and after my son was already accustomed to an American diet . With my son being such a picky Eater and having bad gag reflexes as well as food texture issues , I do allow him to still eat non vegan items , but I do limit a lot . My husband gives our son non vegan food and I usually bite my lip and now my son is 10 so I want him to choose , and sometimes he will ask mom is this healthy or is this vegan and I’ll tell him no and he will choose to eat anyways and sometimes he doesn’t. I hope that me showing him through example of what I’m eating will help him make better decisions later in life , also I’m teaching him how dos he feel when he eats certain foods and to pay attention to that. It hurts that my husband isn’t on the same page but I’m not going to let like you said my convictions ruin my relationship with my son or husband , they are there own person and I can only walk my path . I hope he eventually comes around like your hubby! Blessings to your family from mine !!!

    I agree with you in that the different definitions of “vegan” and “plant based” are useful. I always say I grew up plant based because in terms of doet, we ate little to no animal products (less than 5%), but we still used leather, wool, went to the zoo, etc. Even though I’ve never eaten a diet high in animal products (I was pescatarian, then vegetarian, then plant based again), it wasn’t until I was a mature adult that I finally made the moral/ethical connection and committed to stop supporting animal exploitation altogether.

    I love this video so much. I resonate with everything you talked about. I’ve been vegan for almost 7 years out of the 9 years we’ve been together (just got married two weeks ago!) and he’s been supportive with the occasional jokes but I joke back too sometimes. It can create friction but I think watching each other blossom into who we are is amazing. My now husband also doesn’t eat any dairy ice creams or cows milk. And that’s a big deal! He does eat the vegan meals I prepare but I still cook non vegan meals for him because how fair is that if he’s working all day and he can’t come home to a cooked meal that he enjoys, besides the occasional vegan meals I throw in each week. Anyway, it’s all a balance! If you truly love your partner, nothing will stop ya! 😊❤

    • @GoVeganForTheAnimal

      If you truly love animals you won't cook up their body parts for someone who is too spineless to stop eating them after learning what happens to them behind closed doors. Remember the victims, your husband is a bully to animals and it's important to show him that regularly.

    • @jesseyhoffman1377
      @jesseyhoffman1377 8 місяців тому +1

      @@GoVeganForTheAnimal i understand your frustration, I think all of us who respect animals and the earth do. But how can you sit there behind your screen and tell someone that the love of their life (who is a wonderful person) is a bully and spineless. You don’t know what he knows and what he doesn’t know. He hasn’t felt the desire to inform himself on the realities of animal ag aside from what he learned about dairy. He came to the realization on his own when I was breastfeeding our son. You can’t force someone to view your perspective. You can’t force someone to your views. Now THATS a bully and we all have to make these choices for ourselves. There is so much more needed for some people to make that big lifestyle change. Whether that is for the animals or health. Some people go vegan overnight (me) because their heart has so much space for our world and the inhabitants of it. And some people, it takes years, even decades or more to go vegan due to their perspectives, environment, and lifestyles. It’s not as easy for some, and that’s okay. Because that is historically how all things evolve. Overtime. If you think calling names and bullying other people about, “if you’re not vegan, you’re a horrible person” is going to do anything for the animals then you have a lot to learn still. You need to meet more people and gain perspective. Let’s EVOLVE, and not be so desperate. Trust me, I understand the desperation thinking about the animals suffering… but… this is not the way to change the world.

    "You have to put your relationship above this conviction of yours" I think this kind of advice encourages otherwise activists to be soft and not have as much of an impact.
    I showed my wife the truth about how animals are treated for meat dairy & eggs. After a year she was still eating animals. I expressed I don't want to spend the rest of my life with an animal abuser and that I don't understand how someone I used to think was kind and compassionate could put animals through this for a sandwich.
    The lives of animals are more important than your marriage, be honest with your partner and hold them accountable for when they are being jerks.

    I think it’s so important to acknowledge that one can be ethical and want animals to be treated well and not be vegan. I personally eat meat and also love eating healthy plant-based foods-that’s what’s best for my body. I also feel very sad about how animals are treated and try my very best to buy my meat from grass-fed and finished cows and free-range wild chickens as well as salmon and
    tuna that is not farm raised and has low mercury levels. I personally believe it’s ok to eat meat. I am very sensitive to animals. I know some may think this cannot exist and eat meat but I say it does for me. I believe in God and in the bible meat is a pleasant aroma to The Lord. I think it’s ok to feel different things and not argue but accept that others feel differently than I do. I know many may be angry by my comment here and I respect your feelings. but I am a subscriber and I have my own reasons for being here. I don’t need to be quiet though because it may offend someone. I am able to feel how I feel and have understanding for how my thoughts may bring out your own emotions. Both are ok. I love Hannah’s healthy content and her products. I use matcha and non-toxic cleaning supplies. Healthy living is a huge passion of mine. 🩷
