A couple of years ago I got hooked to synthwave music and have been looking for new tracks. I love this one from the first time I ever listened to it. The best track of 2020's synthwave.
I cannot, seriously, CANNOT even begin to describe to you how magical this track is;;; I’m too blown away... this is amazing, all of your work is so so amazing
Please never stop making music. This track is so beautiful in so many ways. I work in a dangerous field and listen to your music as a way of calming me down.
Dude, I was blasting it at work, when a 55yo coworker walked by and asked me "How the fuck can music make you feel melancholic and nostalgic like that?" He asked for songname+artist. Just wanna let you know
Listening to this since release. Genuinely saying - this is one of the best Synthwave pieces, and in general one of the best pieces I've heard in a long time.
I have no words to describe this song. Masterpiece falls short to be honest. Late night drives or listening while editing videos while listening to this song makes me feel like a main character lol. Love the song Binary!
This and Lost give me a feeling I've only felt a handfull of times in my life but I don't know how to describe it so all I can say is thank you for creating and thank you for putting your art out for people to enjoy.
Some of the best production in synthwave I’ve heard in my opinion. Tons of people do the bass “rest-dun-dun-dun rest-dun-dun-dun” rhythm but it rarely hits like this and in Distant Shores. Appropriately low, yet clear and punchy. Nice composition and melodies too! Your production on other tracks also hits really well, you should be proud of the work you’re putting out. I’m not sure if you’re just doing music part-time or what, but Godspeed to you my man.
@@downtownbinary Awesome mate, well I wish you the best and I will be following along the way. I am excited to hear that album you said you'll be dropping soon!
Downtown Binary is quickly becoming one of my favorites. It's just so effortlessly divine! I love it. I've been binging this and Resort and Aether and Contact. Is there anything better to soothe an anxious mind?
I'm absolutely Fallen in love with this song so much. It accidentally came onto my playlist when I was at the coast and I couldn't help but listen. Right now this song has created a core memory for when I discovered this. Thank you so much.
Please upload this song to Instagram because I would play this and many other synthwave tracks when I used to walk the streets of Tokyo at night. Playing "Midnight Tokyo" while looking at all the neon lights in Tokyo was pure bliss. A lot of your tracks fit the Tokyo night vibes. Thanks mate!
Sadly I can't add it to instagrams music library because of a copyright restriction relating to a stock licencing library this track is on. And that sounds awesome! Visiting Tokyo is one of my bucket list things to do at some point :D
you can feel the emotion just oozing from this track. Downtown Binary, you are a master craftsman and I thoroughly enjoy every work you have and continue to put out. much respect.
This song is speaking to me. So I'm just thinking "forget it", gonna scribe out my thoughts as they come. Life is hard, and it's getting harder by the second. But it isn't that black and white either. Nothing is. I think back on when I was a boy, simply figuring things out. So many ambitions. & I still do have many. Whether it comes to thinking about thoughts of personal regret or whatever it is I want to start doing / improving upon, it gives me this mixed sense of urgency and will. Two sides of the same coin. I think back... Back to a time, some may call it simpler, where the world seemed completely new to me. and I was fascinated at certain concepts that seemed out of my grasp. Space. Animation. Technology. One thought that keeps coming back to me upon reminiscing is that of stars. Stars are amazing to me. Looking out into the night sky, when the hemisphere is dipped in black. And these faint, yet defined hints of light dance at you - from wherever you are. We learn that these spectacles are other suns, much like our own that we see every day, that are just very far away. Might be getting this wrong but light years. And that concept is absolutely wild. I think back on things that I liked as a kid. Certain things that receive criticisms. Whether it was music or a film even. If it was something that was received moderately / poorly by the public, it wouldn't necessarily bother me as much as have me feel weary about something that I love. Tron: Legacy is kind of that case. I don't necessarily have any concretely defined memories about it or its reception. However I think I remember watching it and thinking it was the coolest stuff. The colors, atmosphere, music maybe. So I may have heard about it being average to some people's liking. So, insecurity may have prevented me from enjoying it 100% but I hold dear and fond memories of it. Not to mention a memory I remember clearly of a Tron mobile game where you could ride around on the light cycles. There'd be the classic light trail coming off of your bike, as you make your way to try to get your opponents caught up and dissolved by light. Don't remember if different colored bikes were playable but the prominent light blue is something that resonates deeply within my heart. Love that aesthetic to the core. So many concepts I enjoyed back then that positively reinforce me when I think back upon them. The concept of colors that you are used to shifting from one to another in situations such as MegaMan doing so upon utilizing a special weapon. Alternate colors for characters. Characterization of unique characters. Amazing story telling always mesmerized me. It was movies and games that did it for me back in the day, along with music to a degree. I know these thoughts are extremely scattered but I listen to this track, "Midnight Tokyo", and it feels me with feelings of melancholy nostalgia and causes my soul to reflect upon itself. So I think back on old memories... There's a lot more I could have mentioned. Just felt like leaving this small fragment of my mind here on the internet. This right here just some human thinking and recording said thoughts onto a comment section. Essentially, I'm just trying to say that this song is making me feel something special as I reflect, giving me the urge to get my thoughts out. Whether I can possibly connect in some way to anybody who has a similar thought from any one of the ones I listed. Thank you for this track. Don't know where humanity and life is headed but let's all hope for the best Happy New Year 2021! never forget who you are deep inside. Live your life.
Sorry I was a bit late to post comment on your marvelous piece of music. You were great and doing great again. Seriously, I am in love with your art work.
If I were gonna do a review about these 4 tracks alone, you're right up there with Shook (shookmusic) and how Tiesto's "In Search of Sunrise" should have been....excellent :)
