And that's one of the things I've always hated about Lisa; every time one of the other Simpson characters got something going for them, she just "have" to be included and goes overdramatic just to get her way. She could've gone to Seoul at another time and take the opportunity to relax while Homer and Bart were gone.
@@philghi135 Never said she was to blame about Homer shutting off the power. It's just if you actually noticed in some of the episodes, she does try to include herself in whenever the other Simpson characters got something really good going on and every time she gets involved, bad things happen. And I was also pointing out how she flipped her lid just because Homer and Bart were going to Seoul, for an esports tournament, when she could've gone at another time. It's not like it's a one-time deal. But since you wanted to bring the "shutting the power off" bit up, in a sense it is her fault. Homer may have been the one to shut the power off but who was it that put the idea of materialistic release in his head in the first place? This is Homer we are talking about here. Lisa knows that Homer would always do some random shenanigan, especially when he "wises up". Let's put it this way, if she had stayed home while Bart and Homer were away and they returned after winning the prize, they could've gone back to Seoul just for a visit. It may not have been right away but still. But of course some kind of mishap would've happened as well but not in a sense where it involves Homer intentionally shutting off the power.
Agreed. That's why I never truly saw her as a profound Intellectual. She's really just a selfish, spoiled brat. It's really frustrating that she never gets a taste of her own medicine by complete sabotage. When something wrong happens to her, she cries and moans until the rest of the episode focuses on making her feel better.
@@kgunitkeese17 I agree. She always thinks she's in the right or things, when in reality, she's a hypocritical jerk who can't even take the blame for HERSELF. That's why I never usually liked her either.
I know. That's hypocrisy right there. I've never liked Lisa that much either. Shure Bart done some wrong things in his life, but he does deserve BEYOND better as well.
I can never stand Lisa. Sure she never meant for Homer to turn the power off, but instead of her complaining about wanting to go where Bart was going, she could have chosen something ELSE to do with Marge and than his career in gaming would have NEVER got ruined. I take Bart's side in this (and always have). He really deserves better.
Right? Plus, she's young so she has plenty of time to where she could go to Seoul herself. She always acts like it's the end of the world whenever she sees someone else go somewhere.
She never thinks beyond her own little circle and can't stand when others do better than her. She ruined Barts Esports, his drumming career, his education, his self confidence, almost killed him a few times, ruined her family's chance to improve their lives and much much more. What I wanna see is an episode wherein Bart or Maggie get involved in something really cool and end up super successful at it, maybe make Maggie the poster child for environmental awareness in Springfield or have Bart try to play the saxophone and end up better than her, something that neither character intentionally does to one up her but something that offers said character something valuable in Life and then when Lisa tries inevitably to bitch about it, have them or someone involved in Maggie's case snap at her and list everything she's done, put her in her place and hopefully finally allow her character to develop beyond what it is now

I hate Lisa Simpson and I always will. Not only was Lisa jealous of Bart and Homer spending time together and the fact that they were going to South Korea, she was secretly jealous of the fact that Bart was going to become famous long before she does. Also she does realise that the money they could have won would have done a lot of good, they would have gotten $100,000 each. Bart would have become successful at something he’s actually good at, Nelson would have had enough money to feed himself, Martin and Milhouse would have become cool kids and Sophie would have made her dad proud. Also video gaming was helping Bart in many ways, it kept him out of trouble, it helped him and Homer bond and it helped him concentrate. I know that Homer was the one who shut down the competition but it was Lisa that planted that idea in his head, I hope Bart finds out one day that it was Lisa that sabotaged him. Let’s face it, every time Bart finds something he’s good at and it gives him confidence she gets jealous and finds a way to ruin it for him.
To add to all that, when Marge saw how upset Lisa was, she tried to cheer her up by offering to spend time with her. Yet, Lisa shuts that down in an extremely condescending way. "I try to spare you because I don't want you feeling thoroughly appropriate guilt for what this family does to me" UGH! Just typing that was painful. Then she proceeds to freak out and throw a tantrum until Marge gives her what she wants. That's emotional blackmail right there. Shut up, you bratty, selfish, starfish-haired piece of shit!
