I've been eating from her for over 7 years as I work in the area. Maureen is an institution, everybody has eaten from her and is a lot better then any food shop far and near. The lady needs recognition for services to her community, really nice to see her get the recognition she deserves as this is the third food blogger to interview her. The food looks rather tasty. If I could recommend one thing, it would be to mic your interviewee. Maureen seems to have a lovely story, and it would have been great to hear it clearly.
To be honest I've not eating or a fan of takeaways but it's cool to go and enjoy our carribean food once in a while one problem for me I don't know where to find them in London or Brixton which is sad for me

I'm not a fan of them using plastic to cover the rice and peas pot. Apparently, it helps the rice steam. I would prefer them using kitchen foil. I never once saw my Auntie cooking rice & peas on a Sunday and using plastic bags to cover the rice pot. She always used kitchen foil. I don't know how much poisoning is going on there with the BPA chemicals leaching in the rice and peas. 😂
love me some oxtail. nice to see proper way of cooking rice and dark meat chicken thighs for the jerk chicken. My go to is usually goat roti when I'm back home in Toronto.

I hear you but everyone seems fine so far and she’s been doing this for years lol. And kitchen foil is harmful as well. You can’t win lol
