About
Mitchell Jones has been a member of Commissioned since its inception. He has lead many Commissioned songs, either starting them off, taking part in them, or leading them all the way. He is best known for his smooth sounding voice, and his writing some of Commissioned's greatest hits especially in partnership with Parkes Stewart. Some of his best songs are "'Tis So Sweet", "Ordinary Just Won't Do", "No More Loneliness", "Victory", "Love You With The Rest of My Life", "I Can't Live Without You", "I Am Here", "I'm Learning", "More Than I", "Dare To Believe", "Love Is The Way", and many more. His input to the group makes him definetely an indisposable member of Commissioned, he also has played keyboards on Parkes Stewart's album and also on the album Irreplaceable Love. Look out for Mitchell Jones' first solo album with his background singers/musicians named 3rd Dimension (3D) coming soon, entitled (Mitchell Jones & 3rd Dimension) Beyond The Veil: Final Destination. He has already released an album from Light Records in September 2004 entitled Still Commissioned: The Songs of Mitchell Jones. It includes some of his classic Commissioned hits, some songs from his upcoming album, and some remixes of his classic Commissioned hits as well.

I grew up on RnB in the 90s, so when I came to the Lord a little while back, I found Commissioned and fell in love with all their music and messages. It was like I found a treasure chest. A sound I love, but that honors God. Dare to Believe is like something that dropped out of heaven. I could've used their music during my struggles as a kid. I am grateful I still get to hear it. In my walk in christ I found about commissioned in 1985 and I still listen to commissioned until this day I love all the singers but Michell cry on brought me through a lot but no on person should have been bigger than the ground they should have prayed and let the Holy lead them I must say commissioned is very anointed I pray that GOD bring commissioned back together AMEN ❤❤❤

I was living up in Anchorage, Ak in the mid 80's when Commissioned came out and I stopped buying boogie woogie and started purchasing Contemporary Gospel. I drove from Alaska to Brazoria, Tx listening to COMMISSIONED and Be Be and Cee Cee.
Wow what an amazing life experience
I wasnt going to say anything but Commissioned sound and music drew me to God in a very different way. After hearing the 1996 album Irreplaceable Love, I thought it was Boyz II Men! I didn’t know that Christians could sing that way and the songs were filled with the word of God. After falling in love with these songs, I went all the way back and found other albums and I became glued to the word of God through their songs. They could re-release all of their albums right now today and the word and music will still hit the same.

Mitchell is truly anointed of God and my favorite member of the entire group.
The Spirit of the Lord was truly shining out of him during this interview.
I wept through the entire thing.
My spirit is really sensitive to the annointing.
If the presence of God is on someone it causes me to weep Involuntarily.
I have listened to Mitchell and Commissioned, who I called my holy brothers since I was nineteen years old and I'm about to be fifty seven.
I remember at age 20 I wrote them a letter and sent it to Studio A in Dearborn, Michigan.
It was a prayer request.
I don't know if they actually received it, read it and prayed over it.
God answered my prayer after I sent it to them. I will never forget that.

I go way back to the early 80's with Commissioned. We went to Church together, made music, Mitch has always been a great brother🙏🏾
I was first exposed to as a young child before their 1st album dropped. They performed at a banquet that my church had in Michigan. Mitchell was always THAT GUY for me. I wanted to be "Cool Saved" like him...lol!!! I even had an autograph from him that my sister got from him one day. I carried it with me everywhere I went. Glad to see that he is still "Goin' On" in the Name of The Lord.

Mitchell Jones is the reason Fred left the group. Fred started Commissioned. Fred named the group from his Army days. Fred arranged all the members and held practices at his home. Fred initiated the fundraising activities to produce their debut album, 'I'm Going On', released in 1985 on Light Records. Then, in 1993, Michell claimed Commissioned was his group. Fred said no. Commissioned is my group. When the record company saw the discord that Michell was sowing, they told Fred to kick Michell out of the group. But instead, Fred left... and the rest is history. I just can't believe that Karl, Keith, and both Michael's stood by and let Michell break the group up and not once open their mouths to defend Fred and kick Michell out!
Wow, I just watched a video Fred did earlier this year and I was hoping he was not talking about Mitchell because Fred has often talked about how close they were. Also, he was one of my favs in the group. It's sad that they seem to no longer be close friends.
