Perhaps some of these ideas might help... a gift certificate for a day of beauty (massage, facial, mani/pedi, etc.); a piece of luggage (as she is traveling a lot); a monthly subscription to a book club, flower delivery, etc.; jewelry is always a lovely gift; write her a song that you, Gi and the boys can record or make a compilation of home movies of the two of you (clearly for next years birthday). Haha! My brother's birthday was on the 22nd as well and I didn't get his present until 30 mins before the shops close. I raced to the city centre and ran like hellhounds were after me... He liked it though! Surprisingly, because... HE'S IMPOSSIBLE TO BUY FOR!!!
The best present that I always recieve from people who are close to me, is spending their time with me... that's the most expencive and precious thing to ever get, because things you can buy, but you can never get back that time you spent with someone you love. Just think about that and if you really have the need to give a present, bake a cake together or play a board game. You can easily forget material things, emotions, on the other hand, are hard to erase. Sometimes the smallest gift can make the biggest influence.

don't worry Tom, my older brother only ever bought me one present for my birthday ever (we are 24 and 22). It was my 10th birthday and he bought me the playstation game The Simpsons Hit and Run and I loved it I was so excited. Little did I know he really only bought it for himself because 5 minutes after I unwrapped it he goes "Well because the playstation is in my room, ill go put it on the shelf in there okay?" and I never saw it again...The deviousness.
If it makes you feel any better: My brother has never ever given me a present for neither my birthday nor Christmas (not counting "Oh, this is from your brother"-"No, mum, it's clearly from you"-s).
