Hey bud. I used to have a YZ and have had a ttr for nearly 10 years. Have often thought about doing this swap. Was it as easy as you say? No issues with the speedo? I guess you have to use the YZ wheels too or can you still run the ttr wheel? Thanks and nice work
I sold that bike to my buddy, and he still rides the hell out of it to this day. Ttr 250 doesn’t have enough power for me. I pretty much had that thing full throttle anytime I was in the seat and it was still not getting me excited.
Did you have to modify the steering stem or the range of motion stop wheel locks? I always use the full length seal savers on my usd forks to save the fork seals.
No the only thing you do differently is use 2 castle nuts under the tripe clamp instead of 1 like the ttr comes stock because the yz steering stem is longer. the tabs bend up into both nuts and everything it works perfectly. And for people that have thought about doing this mod and say the rake is going to be off I’m not sure if that’s true or not but I’ve ridden this bike at the track several times like this and done everything I normally do and it works perfect. Way better than stock!
That bike looks really sharp, the front end looks amazing.
Thank you!
That’s a beautiful bike
I really appreciate that! I have this strange attraction to my ttr I plan on being buried with it. Lol
Nice work!
Thank you!
Was it an 06 YZ front end? Thanks.

My bike never had a speedo. And yes, it was pretty easy. You just use the full YZ 250 front end. You don’t need any of the parts from the Ttr
