You video helped me fix my gas leak. I had no clue as to the problem but once I followed your instructions, voila!; no more leak!!! Thanks a million.
Super helpful! I just had the same problem with our Dewalt pressure washer. It was a pain to get the gasket for the bowl back on but saved me having to send the washer in for service. No tarnish in mine but was some black gunk keeping the needle from closing. Thank you!
Black gunk is probably rubber from the fuel lines to the tank. All caused by wonderful ethanol. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $$ to use nothing but ethanol free gas in ALL your lawn equipment. 2 and 4 strokes.
Having the same exact problem on a 2016 year 3,000 PSI model sitting in my father in laws garage unused for years. Now to do the cleaning and see if I can get busy ! ( guessing he used it for a project, then parked it ) We have access to multiple gas stations with 100 % gas, no never use the Ethanol in anything ( except the automobiles ) 100% for the 1973 F100 as well.
Thanks for the straight up helpful video !
I wish I had seen this video before removing the whole carburetor. It was a pain trying to line up the different gaskets to reinstall it. I had put this PW away years ago because it stopped working and then purchased a new one. I pulled it out yesterday from storage and cleaned the carburetor, fuel line, and gas tank. It runs fine now.
Much thanks for this video I've been having this problem with my subaru pressure washer will try this
Thanks again
Thank you very much for the information. I just got my powewasher back from a friend and my gas emptied out onto my floor and I don't know what happened. I'm going to do what you said and see what happens. Appreciate you
Thanks for this. Just unboxed and assembled my brand new 2300 PSI Black Max and gas pouring out where carb connects to engine. Likely something to do with the float but...darn thing is brand new...store can deal with it when I return tomorrow.
My Craftsman pressure washer is doing the same thing. I will clean mine like you did! Thanks!
You are the man! Followed the video, worked like a charm!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you so much. You just save me money. You’re amazing
Thanks a million. Figured my problem was the same. Had to go buy some of that Gum Cutter at AutoZone. I've been running ethanol free gas for the last 3 years so I was surprised that it had any buildup.🍻
Ethanol free gas will still go bad if left sitting for to long. Always drain the gas out and run the carburetor dry. Thanks for watching
Sounds like the exact issue that caused my friend to donate his same model PW to me today. I will be doing the same diagnosis tomorrow. Thanks.
I have a pressure washer that been sitting in my garage for a couple of years. It looks to have the same problem that gas just pour's out the same way. Thanks for the video.
Thank You ! ! !
Great Video.....
awesome video this just let me repair my portable compressor and save a trip to the maintenance shop.
yeah run the water through the hose to clear out air, then hook up to pressure washer then squeeze the trigger to prime the pump and get air out of the pressure washer lines. then start the pressure washer. if you pressure washer wont or is hard to start with water on, squeeze the trigger as you start the pressure washer.
Thank you...
NICE VIDEO I JUST ONE FROM A FAMILY MEMBER THAT WAS GOING TO GIVE IT AWAY SO I AM GOING TO SEE IF WHAT YOU DID WORKS I WILL LET YOU KNOW . THANKS .
Most pressure washers require the water turned on first, before engine start so as not to damage the pressure pump seals.
But I had a different washer that would not pull over with water on. Had to cut water off and the start. I don't know about this one, have to find the owners manual on line
Show us the manual on any pressure washer that you don't need the water to be on???
@@corollamaxx8596 The speed of these engines is governed by the incoming water flow, and that can sometimes mean if you've flooded the engine or are running too rich that less or no water pressure makes the starting easier. Its still not good for it; just easier to start.
What would cause a loud popping sound when I shut off. I have the exact same washer sat for many years got it running again thanks to your video. Ran great the first night I got it running again but now it makes a loud popping sound. When I shut it off ? Any idea what do I look into
Not sure on this one. Run it some more to get all the old gas out of it.
Nice video I got a question my Honda washer is leaking from the muffler and little from the caborator doenst want to start what can it be
If gasoline is leaking out of them then the float is stuck down and flooding it just like the one in the video.
Big like 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Mine runs but the pump is constantly turning off and on when I try to pressure wash. Pump is brand new. Fuel is also coming out of the vent tube from the gas tank and dumping it on my air filter. Open the tank while running and the fuel is bubbling.
I have the same model, Dealing with the exact same problem now. New lesson, never leave fuel in it.
Yep, never leave gasoline in anything now. That 10% alcohol in the gas is messing up the carburetors if you leave the gas in them to long. Thanks for watching
I got the same type of power washer and I got that problem plus it seems to be leaking gas from the exhaust or Muffler area too. I had just places a new carburetor on it. I did all u said and it all seems clean. But I still got the same problem?
Are you sure its gas coming out of the muffler not oil. If it is oil do you have the washer overfilled with oil?
@@TheGAutomotiveAndMore It's gas cuz it's smells like gas and its not at all oily and it don't seem dark like oil either.
@@MegaAmazingc If it was flooding gas could have made it in to the oil. Check the oil, if its over full, then change oil and start it up to get the rest out for the muffler
I think I found my problem. I found that the new needle was clean but it wasn't very springy. So I just switch the old needle and now it works. 😁 thank u for ur time and video tho. I really appreciate your response to my question.
my needle those not have that black tip do i need a rebuild kit
No some have a metal tip. Clean it and try it first before buying a kit.
Kind of the same issue here, but leak is coming from a “blackish” plastic to the left side of that area. Haven’t taken it apart yet….hope it’s just a filter or gasket issue.
@@TheGAutomotiveAndMore thanks, gonna open it up and see what the problem might be this weekend.
My machine wouldn't start, I had old fuel in it. I followed your advice and it started!! But it still leaked after use.
What’s the model number of your pressure washer I have the same one but I need to replace my gov spring and the person I bought it from removed the sticker
I posted a picture on my instagram account of the engine sticker. go to The g automotive and more on instagram.
I had the same issue with mine and ending up buying a new carburetor. It worked for about 30min and started leaking again.
Gas Tank probably has dirt in it makeing the needle stick down again.
Now what if you've pulled the float and cleaned everything twice but you still get fuel coming out the air filter and exhaust
The float could be full on gas making it sink and overfilling the bowl.
@@TheGAutomotiveAndMore o need thought about that. I talked to a buddy and I ended up treating it like a toilet float and bent it a little. It fired right up and no overflowing when I stopped.
What if u did that and u still got the same problem?
You might have a hole in the float. So the float is always down and flooding out. Maybe the needle is still sticking in the hole. Clean it out again. Thanks for watching
@@TheGAutomotiveAndMore the needle was clean like I said I had just got a hold new carburetor and it seems like once I place the new carburetor it started leaking gas. The reason I got a new 1 was cuz I broke off the spring area that holds the spring in place.
above the carb is a black plastic fuel manifold that leaks. This video dont help.
I HATE THIS FUCKING PRESSURE WASHER ALWAYS GIVING PROBLEMS
I have this same piece of shit. Same problem. Geez this thing is the biggest pain in the ass. Buy Honda!!!
You cam shows nothing of what you're doing in assembly or disassembly. Thank you for the rest though!!
Sorry all i did was drop the float bowl down and clean up the float and the needle. Thanks for watching
I replaced mine for $10
I have the exact same machine with the same exact problem. Fixed it in just a few minutes by following your advice. You are THE MAN!!!
Thank you and thanks for watching
