One thing that bothered me about this show is how the script had the set actors ask the guest a question, then immediately overwrite the guest's answer with their own pre-scripted answer anyway so they can stay on script. That's not how you improv dagnabbit. You build off your partner's inventions, rather than just crush them and ignore them.
They aren’t pre scripted answers, especially by Hamish. He’s brilliant coming up with ridiculous answers. Not sure if this is an English or Australian version, as I just tripped over it by accident. Hamish and Andy had been on radio for years. Both very quick witted. Hamish coming back to TV this year. If u r Australian, sorry 🥴as u probably know all this lol
The script writing for this is much worse than the Australian version, she keeps asking him to give extremely short answers (getting him to answer how many years ago they got married is NOT funny 🙃), and talking over him when he's just getting going.
The Aussie show would often set up with things like, there are three things to remember, 1, 2 and most importantly .. and then throw it to the improve actor. Another method was asking them what had happened, why they were late, hadn't done something, etc. and they would have to come up with reasons. But kudos to Hamish. Do you even know how to fly a plane? and instead of answering yes/no, he turns it into a great gag, while his character squirms out of giving a direct answer.
hamish is great, he was hilarious while they gave him nothing to work with
The whole point of the show is to give them nothing but setups
Australia's beloved icon, amazing as always :D
Awww I loved the end bit, so genuine. Love him.
I bet his shoulders hurt after carrying both the Australian and UK series...
some people thought that Hamish knew what he was getting into, but he's always like a million times funnier than others on this show
Haimish is so unfailingly chill and funny. Never stuck for a line.
I wanna be Hamish when I grow up
+Glenn Wheatcroft Maybe you could ask him if he was you when he was younger :)
So did you grow up into Hamish?
Did you grow up into Hamish?
Update on this
You Hamish yet?

@@bernadettelanders7306 are you an insane person
@@bernadettelanders7306 its uk version with hamish from australia
@bernadettelanders7306 they are clearly talking about the 'set actors' like they said...not Hamish or the other guests. Just read next time
Lol correct. Even the host had his lame scripted "Bishop of Canterbury" line instead of leaning in to Hamish's "baker" comment...
Holy shit... first of all I never knew the UK had a version of this...then I see my old mate Tara in it!
Lol
i think the actors deserve a better wrap then the comedians like how doessomeone keep a serious face hamish is a crack up
this is gold
You know Someone’s a Master at improv when another country also uses them on their show…
Do you know what they call a man who marries more than one woman?
- A masochist.
Do you even know how to fly a plane?
Well, it's a very difficult thing to do. Do you know how to fly a plane?
Hamish doesn't miss a beat.
Owns his own garage ? Must be very nice
God he’s good.
I know we talked about doing it that way. LOL
We’ll keep the grease is crazy
Hamish Blake appeared on both the Australian original edition and the UK edition I don’t think he made it as far as the US however
So which day did he find ANDY????
What happens to andy
Its the power rangers
Hilarious

This was so funny 15 years ago when I was actually 15 but now it’s total cringe. 😂
I think the cringe was the poor scripts.
