Good talk, I disagree with we aren't doing well defensively recruiting. Our 2024 class was half defense and half of them were 4 star or better. I think the 2025 will have good defensive presence in the end.
Still dying to go to lsu again but with a sidekick
It definitely starts at high school recruiting. I've been saying this for a long time now. Also it's easier on the pocketbook to get players out of high school as opposed to paying experienced college players out of the portal. Especially if there are big 💰 teams involved. It'll definitely turn into a bidding war & LSU doesn't have more 💰 than Texas, Texas A & M, USC, etc,etc.
It's much easier to recruit players from Louisiana than most other states for 2 reasons. Most of these players dreamed of wearing the purple & gold since they were little kids. Secondly, players won't get home sick & transfer on you. They're more likely to stay on the team.
We didn't even have a DL coach last season.

Yeah, Bo Davis definitely has his work cut out for him. He's going to earn every single bit of that 1.5 million a year salary.
No, let's not be mistaken, LSU will not be a top 10 or even top 20 defense. To say that they were 100th or worse in total defense, we'll take 50 or 60th overall, it would still be much improved. They don't have to be dominant on defense, just get some stops, & perhaps a turnover here & there will keep them competitive in every game.
Neither Oklahoma nor Miami had better points to sell than LSU other than Miami being in friggin Miami.
