I love your prospective on this. You managed to do deep practice in only a few minutes. I often feel guilty when I have only 5 minutes to spare for practice. Thank you!

This video came at the perfect time for me. I've set a goal to practice 15 minutes, four times a day for 100 days. Finding 15-minute slots throughout the day is easier than one hour. The downside is that when I'm warming up, time is up. On the other hand, it's been easier to memorize new pieces as I have to recall them more often.

Yesss. Creating the routine is the important part. It's not usually 5min per day it's when you are busy a specific day and choosing between 0 and 5min.
And sometimes when motivation is lacking. Telling yourself you'll just do 5min almost always leads me to finding motivation to continue haha

Very good points!! I like the exercises you demonstrate, they cover a LOT. Even on 'vacation' if I don't play for a few days it takes TWICE as long to get back what I had lost...I bought a 'Prakti-Cello' years ago that folds up and take it every vacation, plus its sounds very soft so hotel practice isn't a problem.

Very good video. Thanks for the idea to create a time table during practice time. Even when I have more time to practice

I always watch your videos well. Even if I don't have time to practice, I think I can do 15 minutes. And I have a question. When I practice at home, the environment is not good, so I use a metal mute. Could you tell me what impact practicing with a metal mute has on the sound and instrument of the cello?

See, i have a different problem - I'm a mother with 4 youngish kids so in order for me to practice i have to get the kids occupied with something fairly absorbing, clear a space with enough room to play, get the cello out ect. By the time ive tuned and am ready to go it can sometimes be half an hour since i first started trying. Once ive got set up, im bloody well going to play for an hour to make all the trouble worthwhile! 😂

Nem sempre! Em um belo dia, eu estava estudando no meu prédio em São Paulo, e aí recebi ligação no interfone dizendo: para com essa m***a 😂 E foi o Preludio de Villa Lobos que estava estudando para um concerto com a OSESP.

We used to call this practice woodshedding. Even 15 minutes can be beneficial so long as there is a stated goal and method of achieving that goal. Thanks again for jogging my old memory.
