How to catch Halibut | Best Bate

Nicely done! Super impressive balance on that SUP, I would definitely fall in frequently. I've caught a lot of halibut on a (single) drop shot, definitely will try the double drop though! What spots have you had the best luck for legal halibut in san diego/chula?

the double works wonders for me. Legals seem to be more towards the mouth of the bay though.

What hooks are you using with the flukes?

For non grassy areas, it’s the rebarb hook. Its just a J hook with a barb to keep the bait in place

That’s one of my favorite spots. Got a bonefish on a Warbaits neck breaker with a 4” fluke there. Very unexpected. There are croaker about 100 yards from your bow.
