- I decided to try Daggerfall again because I was bored. It went better than I expected!

"Oh, it's personality." *lowers it exponentially*
As a tip, you *don't* want to do that, unless you like finding everything entirely by yourself. Personality effects how likely the peasants in town will be to say anything but "kiss off" when you ask for directions or rumors, and can even cause enemies in dungeons to become friendly to you. This becomes more likely if you have your weapon sheathed, and a number of skills are also involved depending on whether it's a monster, a humanoid thief, or a humanoid mage/warrior.

@joshuabryant9845 Not if they give you a dismissive answer like "kiss off," though, right? It's only if they give you vague directions like "walk east for a while" that you can make them clarify
Edit: or the responses I also get a lot, where they'll say something along the lines of "wish I could help you" where your personality _doesn't_ revolt them, but they just don't even know where the place is

I'm new to all this, but apparently in Daggerfall Unity there are mods for: making persistent dungeons (so you can get out and into them again) , mod for attacking with mouse click, mod for connecting towns with roads (and filling other vacant spaces with new content) , mod for travelling with horse manually (speed up) , there's also this bigger mod called Warm Ashes that I still don't know everything it does (the mod creator doesn't do a very good job explaining what it does, but it seems like a nice addition) There is also a pack of mods called "Original Exploits" or something like that, for reintroducing the original bugs in the game (or some of them I think)
oh and also mod for Enemy HP Bar... there's many more I'm not remembering from the top of my head... cosmetic ones that add Real-Time Lighting (to an extent), another mod that adds visible hills on the distance that you can reach, making Windows Transparent (see outside) etc etc
Cool stuff and all, but at this point I wish all these people would work on their own game and MAKE MONEY, you know? I'm still not used to this new model the world is turning into, where people provide labor for free... My brain still can't comprehend that... Because when you look at the companies at the top (the ones that encourage you to "open source") they are not doing it themselves

Watching you play Daggerfall has been entertaining. Anyway, there's a much quicker way to get through the first dungeon. When you get to the room with the U shaped table and the archer, go through the door directly to your left. This'll lead into the big room with the smelly skelly. Go up the stairs, hop onto the chair, and click the lever to the left of that platform. That's an elevator... or you can climb up the wall. After you get up there, go right. And keep going right until you come to a door. Go through that door, and the exit is in that room.
Edit: If you click on the red grid while in the map menu, it'll show a top-down view, which might be easier to read.

I prefer to watch you play this shabby nightmare of a game rather than try it myself. I AM playing Skyrim again thanks to you and the Spiffing Brit. 👍
