Jeeze, such a hassle because of one locked up device! How often do Optimods freeze up like that? I guess that's one nice thing about the old analog equipment...

Not that often. That was the only time I remember that happening.

I would of thought the Optimod would pass audio regardless if it froze up like that. Dataprobe makes a product called, "iBoot-G2" that can be used on a LAN .

You would think so... I'll check that Dataprobe device out. Thanks!

Very interesting. Stay safe driving out there, be careful.

Another great video! When you had the shot of the audio processor rebooting and it’s splash screen up, I thought I heard a familiar voice. Hey, that’s John Young! Great guy, know him personally actually. Thought at first, I thought it was his voice as part of the reboot screen..just the signal though 😆 So how long do you give yourself usually to try and fix a problem remotely before making the decision to drive all the way out to Barstow or a site that’s outside of the Los Angeles area?

Yeah, we've been using John Young since 1996 or so.
I try to do everything I can remotely, but there's only so much I can do and see. Depending on the failure, backups in place, and management priorities, it could be the same day drive out or a next business day.
