What a night! It was Frida's birthday too. Remember Benny did an intro on his synth of "Danny Boy" then broke into VoulezVous as Agnetha and Frida ran on stage. Bernie....I recall that your seats were probably broken at that time when everyone rushed forward!!! My cousin and I had been at the Gresham earlier having blagged our way into the hotel just in time to see the girls as they came out of the lift. I gave Frida a birthday card. They escaped out the back door of the hotel into their limo which drove round the front of the hotel past the crowd outside. It was all a bit mad. The concert was amazing. It nearly didn't happen for me as I had missed the ticket sale but paid double for our tickets...£15 each....which I got from a newspaper ad and which in those days was a lot of money. I was 17.....and the "Dancing Queen".....I will never forget it. Love and best wishes to you all. xxxxx
God Geraldine lucky you, I remember well 15th Nov 1979, I was 14 years old and didn't get to see abba in the RDS, My friend, his brother and parents went, I remember feeling so sad, one the 'big things' I never got to do in my life. Although earlier this year I went to Stockholm and visited the abba museum..I.m still a huge abba fan and still enjoy the music..
I was at that gig, still have the ticket some fotos and amazing memories, I also have a great pic of Geraldine giving Bjorn & Agnetha an Irish plate! Think she was Irish fan club president ! Thanks for the upload x
Geraldine - I am creating a little post for Frida's birthday, November 15, 2019, in the context of a 40th anniversary of the RDS Arena concert, November 15, 1979. Like to mention your name. I am a member of "Abba Girls" and "The Official Anni-Frid Reuss" Facebook pages for both. If you are out there would you message me or send a friend request. My name is Brian Fenelon. Love to hear from you and get your memories and thoughts on that November night in 1978?
