Its like a portrayal of how people interact in a social setting with going back and forth between different people expressing their viewpoint and then someone else comes in and says no its not like that its like THIS (shows their way) then someone else calmly comes and says no not like that like _this_ and then it just becomes an open space where everyone just does their own thing but they all love it/don't care which way it goes. Reminds me of real life.

  • @ade-ade

For those who may not know there is much more to this. If you look very well, the drummers (especially the lead percussionist in red) seems to drum exactly for each individual or group and each set of steps or dance as they come. The drums talk to the dancers and the dancers talk to the drums. If these drums were made the way we make them traditionally, then the actual process of making the drums is a spiritual process in and of itself, from the felling of the tree to the final product. Yorùbá "talking" drums are named so for a reason as they are in other parts of Africa that engage these practices. It is why the synergy between drum and dancer is so completely synchronised.

  • @SgtBubbles100

just pure energy that is transformed through the drummer into sound. Something beautiful gets born when this energy from the drummer starts to take effect on the dancer. The dancer gets connected with the drummers soul, by feeling it in his bones. By watching and moving together with the dancer in the middle the audience energybodies gets connected too with the dancer. The dancer experiences himself as part of this society, this humans, this earth. The drummer, the dancer and the audience are manifesting the show of inwardly merging together. All this happens with the help of energy. everybody vibrate energetically in harmony. The main energy source this of party is pure unmanifested movement or love or god. Pure celebration of life energy and an ecstatic aware falling into the ocean of pure love energy by letting go of the self. and letting love and movement happen in the only constant and "real" of the life - the present moment.

Wonderful all 38 minutes. An African contortionist like the fellow at 16:59 just advanced on America's Got Talent. Drummers and dancers so connected. Soon after the three guys join the woman a little after 5:20, things wind down for a quick break with the tall guy in the black shirt and colored headband dropping his head at the very final beat at 5:36, then walking on as if nothing has happened.

Dope! Just dope! Such honesty and authenticity. Unrestrained exuberance, joy, zeal! Refined skill and artistry. These rhythms and movements are the foundation and inexhaustible source of hip-hop, break-dance, dance hall, and contemporary dance art forms. Dope!

Hey, this is "ALIVE"! Thank you for this impressive wonderful, powerful presence. I have been part of this kind of performances myself, although in Europe, and I remember how alive and joyful and uplifting it was.
