This movie reminded me of how much I loved Floop because hes Willy Wonka played completely straight, absolutely a creator of child-friendly horrors with no remorse but also really innocent. It just takes one kid actually talking to him for him to turn around and it feels believable.
Fun Fact: There is an R-rated spinoff movie of Spy Kids released in 2010 named “Machete” which is focused on the Uncle Machete character, who in the movie is a former Mexican Federal out for vengeance after being betrayed by his Chief.
I question the legitimacy of the claim that the series is a spin-off, but only in the hope of seeing some random quote from an interview confirming it.
@@SherbetAlex it's actually been confirmed by robert rodriguez in a 2020 interview that the Machete featured in spy kids and the Machete from the titular film are not the exact same character. They're basically different versions of machete from separate narrative universes. So, you're kinda half right? This implies multiple universes within robert rodriguez's movie franchises, and i think that's hilarious and he should do a big crossover about it.
There was this one video from oversimplified which made napoleon find out how horses are made, and he was like *DONT LOOK AT ME! ILL BE SICK!* I just imagine one of them being like that
Floop's Song does go hard, I might have listened to it on a (F)loop. And just all the Floop scenes and his character and the castle, I can't help but love it. I do wish it was longer though. Befittingly, Danny Elfman wrote the song. I did have a crippling fear of Donnamight and had nightmares of him. Just his elongated mouth, something about it felt... eerie. Flower, Tall & Skinny and Too Too never bothered me, maybe because they weren't shoved in my face like Donny boy was.
Love the callback to the old video format with looking at reviews, Josiah telling us to lick the video and Bren telling us to (insert word starting with S).
This was a STAPLE of my childhood. I apparently had nightmares about the Thumb-Thumbs so my mom wouldn't let me watch it again. But I still loved it. I also love that Spy Kids and Machete are canonically in the same universe 🤣
My favorite line from this movie was when they rewinded the floop's flooglies show to reveal the people were speaking backwards saying "floop is a mad man, help us save us. Floop is a mad man, help us save up." Just how fast they were saying, their voice and the sing songy way they said it just makes me laugh

3:48 My name is Yoshikage Kira. I'm 33 years old. My house is in the northeast section of Morioh, where all the villas are, and I am not married. I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don't smoke, but I occasionally drink. I'm in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I'm trying to explain that I'm a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn't lose to anyone.
