The fact that this video review is less than the time it takes a hasbro instruction creator to transform the official release is worth high marks. This transformation didnt really seem all that bad and the figure is really good looking. And the fact that hasbro's has a bunch of plates just sitting on his back and back legs kind of makes me regret getting that one and not this one. Though it will be amazing to have a huge Unicron i have no place for i still may have to look into this guy.
I honestly don't mind him being a panel-former, it is an obvious give in, considering the difference between the robot and planet modes. The fact that I'd prefer him to HasLab is that the robot mode really hide it so well. He does look like a pain in the tukus to transform, but after several transformations, it should get more intuitive and easier to transform, in my opinion anyway.

I don't think he looks that bad considering what he has to do. Sure things need filing down, but I've had to do that with other figures. I've certainly watched other videos where Emgo has had as much if not more trouble with figures. And he looks soooooo good in both modes.

I received mine a couple weeks ago after sitting in customs hell for nearly the same amount of time, but it was well worth the wait. I will agree with Emgo that the transformation can be fiddly going into planet mode and the playability is so-so, but then again, I'm not transforming him every day. He is a display piece at the head of my collection and, I think, a lot better in design than the Has-Lab version coming next year, which looks nice-ish, but suffers from the gimmick of the maw and the kibble that hangs off his back. And the unnecessarily large price tag that Hasbro seems to think is fine for all their licensed products. All in all, I love the figure. Love the fact that it can transform from a humanoid shape into a sphere. Yes, it's a panel former. And yes, that's okay. Otherwise you end up with the Armada Unicron that looks so-so by today's standards. Well worth the price I paid. Can't wait to see custom versions popping up.

A head that maybe you can open in half and use it as display for your Galvatron, Rodimus figures kind like Castle Grayskull for Masters Of The Universe and lower the price to 150, maybe 200(if it's really good)...you know something you can have fun with...with your kids or in your collection.

@Ted Bundy it's still a vision of Primus and the closest look we are getting of him if they rebranded it for the last night toy line then that Primus is definitely the stand in for figures like how Knockout is from Prime they don't need g1 looks it's their distinct character models plus other series need some love like how the Armada prime is getting a new figure

In my opinion, I think this figure is an engineering marvel. It can be configured from a spherical object to a robot very reminiscent of Unicron. The process of changing it back and forth may not be "enjoyable" to some, but for me... I only need it to display for pictures and look great on my shelf. I don't feel a personal desire to sit and transform it back and forth. In that regard, I think this figure is fantastic!
We all enjoy things in our own ways. To each their own :)
No doubt!
I'd rather Transform a difficult panel-y transformation than a FansToys plastic explosion that fans GUSH over any day.
lol you had me cracking up wrestling with this damn thing and then you made me bust out @29:00 saying "destiny" like Unicron dying
subbed man good job lol
16:55 look its Mike Wazowski
Well... Can't unsee that now
LOL!!! I see it. As Su ma says, I can't unsee that now.
"Now put that Matrix back where it came from, or so help me!!"
LMAO
And Primus is AOE!Hound. Err.... I mean, Sulley. (See what I did there?)
@@DavidHutchinson0713 and Randall is Daytrader
So glad you got this, I was hoping you would (asked you a month or so back as well). I'd love to afford this guy, but gonna live vicariously through your review lol!
Also, love the packaging for it.
Oh god I can’t even imagine having to put this atrocity BACK in planet mode😰 hurray for balls with arms and frickin legs, hurray indeed...😭✊
hooray indeed.
@@emgo316 if I had dis toy I would never transform it cuz of how much difficulty it was to do for u to transform it and I feel bad dat u had to do dis
This would definitely be an example of a one time only Transformer. I had a similar time with MP Dinobot.
Atleast it doesn't have a vehicle mode
James Webster imagine😰
One of your best reviews emgo. Fanatic.
19:22 Reminds me of something like a Technodrome play set.
Hey emgo thanks for making content I used to watch as a little kid now I’m 17 and I remembered your content thanks man much love
Emgo: UNICRON!!!! I HAVE SUMMONED YOU!!!!!
Unicron: NO ONE SOMEONE'S UNICRON!!!!
Emgo: well it is nice to be the first
19:30 bothered me for some reason and it didnt click until he extended the leg.......when it did I immediately keeled over laughing at the ridiculous sight of "excited" Unicron
He's THICCCCC with all the Cs
Thats so cool! The translucent orange cone is whenever he speaks to megatron in the movie!
I can't wait to see a review of the haslab one
How awesome would it be if next years big boy Unicron comes with light up features, one can only hope and dream. Anyway thanks for all the awesome videos you do and for getting me back into collecting again.
Now we need a grand galvatron upgrade kit
So that he fits in Unicron's mouth?
@@thestigsdutchcousin Grand galvatron is
just galvatron reimagined himself with unicron' s body.
This is coming from an episode from Transformers Headmasters.
"The Earth will SOON be a PART OF ME"
Appreciate the review man, wow hard work evident to this review. Thanks.
You could practically make an entire other video talking about parts that need to be fixed/modified
Overall it doesn't seem to be a complicated transformation, just kinda fights you a bit. Unfortunately have to modify some parts to make it easier.
Fights you a lot
I'm guessing Galvatron hasn't got an issue with other bots being bigger than him, and being taller than the set?
Not gonna lie I still hold on to my opinion this Unicron is way more G1 accurate than Has Labs which to me seem to be more on par with the IDW iteration
You know when he sais "heray for frickin legs" that his mad
Great vid, that transformation seems exhausting lol
Watching you transformed him...... I'm surprise that you did rip him like you did with Split 😂
oh, I thought about it, but the price tag made me restrain myself.
I've got mine finally yesterday. He is great figure :) And as always great review Emgo.
So you recommend we buy two to keep one in each mode to avoid transforming?
Awesome video... A Transformer that doubles as a cardio workout... Clever... OK, not really... Thanks for soldiering through it. It started to get the tone of one of those “mysterious artifact” science shows. Yeah, I don’t know where I learned it, but spiked toys are no fun... OK, maybe still a little fun. Thanks!
Hopefully these guys can do a Primus cuz it would be cool to have this unicron and Primus in a big war for Cybertron/CHUG display
Primus IS Cybertron
@@TheBatman39 War For Cybertron is a game...
Honestly the perfect G1 unicron
When you use the extra stand it remind me of DC the lanterns
Every Unicron figure has a secret play feature, the raw physical agony of transforming them.
I’ve been looking forward to this
Hello there
Majin Walter General Kenobi
501st.Airborne.Trooper. Elite you are a bold one
A surprise to be sure but a welcome one
Emgo, thank you for suffering through this & making me laugh at the same time!
Wow, it's like every part & portion has its own transformation! I love the results, but it's just way too much to get there😆😆
The middle reminds me of the Death Star for some reason
Man the planet mode looks like a basketball that pierced with needles and nails and got stuck on a ring
Rodimus: now light our darkness hour "open the Matrix inside of Unicron"
The wolverine claws was genius idea emgo
