Are you using 15n20 and 1080/95 for your Damascus? You did a great job getting the contrast of the 2 metals to really pop. Great blade cant wait to see what else you make. 👍👍

10 superb gyuto knives! 🤩 Congratulations to the 10 participants and I hope this is only the first collaboration of a long series. 😍 I was able to enjoy seeing the blades making, from, at first glance, simple to complex and all would have their place in my kitchen ... except, maybe, the Faraway Forge one, my kitchen is too small 🤣
Ist wirklich eine sehr schöne Klinge geworden, das Muster in dem Damast kommt echt toll zur Geltung, nur der Griff wird der Klinge leider überhaupt nicht gerecht. Ich hoffe die folgende Kritik ist erwünscht: Bei Wa-Griffen sollte man in der Regel eine Verjüngung zur Klinge hin einbauen, so hat man beim Schneiden mehr Halt und der Griff fühlt sich zur Zwinge hin nicht so klobig an, gerade für die Benutzung im Pinchgrip wird's sonst schnell unbequem. Bei deiner Form der Verbindung der Zwinge und des Holzes hast du beim finalen Verkleben keine Garantie, dass alles wieder so zusammenkommt wie zuvor zurecht geschliffen, ein paar Indexpins oder ein geschlitzter Dübel würden hier schon für Abhilfe sorgen und geben zusätzlich mehr Sicherheit, dass der Griff auf Dauer auch zusammenhält. So wie er jetzt gebaut ist, musst du dich da ganz auf's Epoxy verlassen, und gerade das schnell anziehende gibt nach ein paar Jahren gerne den Geist auf. Ich hab damals viel von simple little life's Video zu Wa-Griffen gelernt, der zeigt die Methode mit dem Dübel sehr gut, sonst kann ich auch noch Don Nguyens Video zu Index Pins empfehlen, gerade wenn man noch ein paar Spacer mit einbaut sehr hilfreich, dass am Ende wirklich alles fluchtet und die Mühe nicht umsonst war. Alles in allem Jammern auf hohem Niveau, das Messer sieht trotzdem klasse aus, weiterhin viel Erfolg.
Beautiful knife. But I will never understand why such big blades are always attached to such whimsical tangs. Wouldn't a longer and wider tang add to better balance and long-term stability?
Beautiful Damascus pattern. But tang was very tiny and like an after thought. Handle design didn’t blend or flow with the blade. With the tang so tiny, is there any balance to the knife?
I've watched so far three others involved with the same contest all are incredible looking blades currently I wouldn't know how to vote it's yours or Black Beard Projects so far both turn it up several notches .
