AW James the last time I was at the dentist it was for a broken tooth, which didn't have to be extracted, but the dentist put this mouth guard thing in my mouth to ex ray the tooth and flipping heck the guard nearly choked me. It was an awful experience that the dentist wasn't able to do the xray, but nothing was serious and so no further treatment was needed. You make a trip to the dentist very relaxing, but you did not have a dental nurse with you. There is always someone there with the dentist when I have to visit for a check up etc. Chris M UK
