- Unused voicelines found inside the Half-Life: Alyx game files. Strangely they seem to be rerecorded Half-Life 2 voicelines but compared to their HL2 counterpart those are said in one sentence and not put into multiple pieces.

It would've been cool if they added the combine skins with voicelines like instead of grenade you hear "bouncer, BOUNCER". would've been much cooler for the people who preordered to get a skin instead of a shitty geniuine pin.

From VNN: This is leftover voicelines from the cancelled half life 3 back in ~2015. It is thought to just be a mapper or programmer with a basic voicechanger, because they hadn’t brought in any voice actors yet. That being said! No one knows what valve is planning/developing as we speak, so we’ll just have to see what happens with the half life series. I see half life 3 (or any half life that pushes the storyline further; Half life:Barney?) as a likely “next” for valve though.

half life was before cs go, so the half life combine voice actors are the original one cs go came out in 2012 and half life in 1998

Or they use the "Freeman" codename for people they suspect to be working with G-Man, or to be prominent members of the Resistance. The original one is probably Gordon, the 2nd one could be anyone, possibly even Barney, with Freeman 3 being the designation for Alyx.

i understand funny and all but thats civil protection and this is a combine soldier.
Day 1 of Alyx had a lot of content leftover from the early days of Half-Life 3's development as well as other games. The fact these voice lines refer to Freeman is probably because of HL3's development, not Alyx itself.

All those lines are from HL2.
Sky Shield: Referred to in Overwatch radio chatter, "Sky Shield" appears to refer to air units of the Combine. Overwatch soldiers report their target or are given a target through "Sky Shield."

Unused in HL alyx, but all those texts are from half life 2 actually, i heard that some devs scrapped this because they didnt want to repeat the same commands in game
Both the model and voice line are pretty neat
I like these orignal hl2 combine models that came in HD, i before i wished that the combine models stays the same. I also before wished that the combine elites will be in this.

These lines that give the combines more life and ... Understanding, mix with HL ALyx taking place before HL2 give me a feeling that I like. Seeing all those combine soldiers who are a very large army will send waves and waves and waves of squads after 5 years just to take out one man that will finish them all.

The voice is cool but it sounds like it has been lower pitched, when in Half-Life 2 their voice was distorted by the vocoder, not lower pitched, still sounds and looks awesome.
I think this wasn´t meant to be a real in game voicelines, in my opinion these are just "test" lines for some sort of testing they did back then.

If you guys watch VNN's stream he says that these are likely lines from what was supposed to be Half Life 3 and then was scrapped. So it's possible these are HL3 voicelines

Metropolice wouldn't really be expected to change as much as Overwatch. They're just guys in gasmasks doing a bit of policework. Overwatch have a bit of a cybernetic commando thing going on, makes sense that there's lots of room to work on those
Probably to be correct with time and place there it all happens (white gunts really looks like they just contamination unit)
Because they had no place in the game. The "new ones" are basically the 'CBRN' Hazmat unit of the combine stationed at earth, which is why they look different.
Combine Soldiers in Half-Life Alyx were earlier versions, primarily equipped to contain headcrabs and the like in areas such as the Quarantine Zone, the Resistance wasn't considered a significant threat at the time the game took place and was believed to be nothing more than anti-citizen dissidents that Civil Protection could handle through sweepings.

This are actually the same text lines from half life 2, but its just a different vocoder

The episodic formula has been scrapped by Valve a while ago, so there won't be a Half-Life 2: Episode 3. Gordon's story will most likely be continued in Half-Life 3.

Personally, I like the soldier voice-lines better in HL:A because it is easier to make out what they are saying due to higher audio quality and less distortion effects.
it's the same voice actor, also in Alyx at least you can make up what they're saying, too much distortion in hl2
@@SovietRipper I disagree, you can make out enough of what they're saying, and the intonations of their voices, to be able to make a good guess at what they're doing/planning. The combat is also more hectic with a lot of movement, and a lot more shooting, so it's not like you need to be able to hear everything they're saying perfectly, anyways, since most of the time you'll be shooting over the chatter.
