Loving your videos Matt. If I can give you a tip buy yourself some self trip fuses that you can press to reset the circuit breaker then you don't have to carry a lot of spare fuses. Just take note that a standard medium blade fuse height is 20mm and the reset fuse is 13mm higher so the reset fuse is 33mm total height. Just check if your fuse box can take this extra height with the cover on
Looking good Matt. Very neat and well thought out. Having just done a 12V build in my canopy myself, I agree with your sentiments regarding the sense of accomplishment when it's all done. One note: Look on Victron's website, they have documentation regarding the installation orientation of their inverters. Their preferred method is to orientate the inverter vertical with the fan at the bottom to allow for hot air to rise unobstructed through the aluminium heatsink.
Well done, Matt. All this homework now will ensure that when you do get out there again, your vehicle and its systems will be the least of your concerns.
Hi Matt, it is quite fascinating to watch your efforts and the evolvement of your Camper to something so special?! May I suggest that you do some of the mounting of equipment, especially electronic and electrical equipment on rubber mounts because the corrugation on the gravel roads, will cause damage to your equipment due to vibrations, etc
I love this!!! We've also got an Alu-Cab Canopy Camper, but I'm thinking of redesigning our layout, and I really like what you have done here. I can't wait to see the next episode when you show your cupboard build. If possible, I'd like to contact you and get more details of materials and where you sourced stuff.
Awesome. Well done. While I had moments of frustration as times, I loved building out my past 2 vehicles myself. The sense of accomplishment is so worth while.
I have dealing electrical and electronics for 50 years, use the largest gauge wire for your application. Example I use 10 gauge wire for a 50 foot run of wire for my solar panels. The larger gauge wire you use the better, more current capacity and less voltage drop! I hope this helps you in your vehicle set up.
Nice video! And very neatly done. One important thing to add to your circuit is a fuse on the main battery side of the cable going to your dc-dc. That main cable should always be fused on both ends in case of a short circuit on that main cable run to the dc-dc
I hope you have better luck with the Blue Nova batteries than I had with mine which stopped charging or holding a charge after three years but very little use; maybe one month each year. Blue Nova weren't helpful either; send it back to them at my cost, if it was repairable they would repair it but at my cost.
Looks great. My only concern would be the 100A circuit breaker. The 6mm? wire running to and from it will be on fire by the time it 'breaks' the circuit. Fuse for the wire size, not the expected load. But you know that.
Great vid as usual! I wrote off the camper as being too small for a double cab bakkie to be practical but seeing the previews of the finished product I may have been too hasty in my decision. Can't wait for the next episode. PS will you get the marine gas heater?
It’s not huge but its perfect for what we do! I think if I get a heater it will be a portable diesel heater that sits outside with a pipe that can be run inside through a vent. Then at least it can be left at home in the summer. No need to fit something like that permanently.
Hi Matt, ever considered the Flexopower unit? I have a dual battery system and a old 555 Flexopower unit. These days you get bigger Flexi units but I must say since I have been using my Flexopower I am considering not paying all the money in the future for fitting out a car and just using a Flexopower Unit. PS also SA brand
Hi Matt, where did you buy the strap L- brackets from? I have been looking all over here, but cannot find something similar. Busy with electrics for my caravan
Lovely, but I don't know that I would have put my entire electrical system right under a water tank. Any concerns there or you think the tank is solid enough?

Matt makes technical stuff I have no clue about interesting to watch. Dankie boet! 🙌🏼
Nice one mate. Respect

Loving this build. We are about to embark on our own build with the canopy camper so am super excited to see what you have done.
Awesome, you did a very good job Matt
great content and a very nice power distribution panel, fantastic work !

Always solder and double heatshrink your connections. Including crimp connectors
Great build!! Please share details on the e-blanket that you guys use.

There is a smaller fuse on the battery side also
Mantap kang mat,😁👍👍💪💪
i do get woodworking lessons on wensday

Dont spray tbe plastic of the connectors with brack clean, carb clean, electric contact clean(etc). They will desolve.
