I've only ever played Legoracers as a kid and heard of LR2 and this is my first time actually seeing LR2. It took so long to beat RR back in the first Legoracers and it was so infuriating even getting to that last race. Unless you memorise all the maps and use the powerups in full, you'll likely lose. When you go up against RR in Legoracers, it is so blood boiling he uses the teleport over and over and can even lap be a whole lap infront of you. Now in LR2, RR just trails you...

I distinctly remember the Arctic level being the most frustrating...Xalax is also my favorite, and I was also disappointed how easy Rocket Racer was -- they give you ramps, but they do nothing but slow you down so the race is just one boring loop...oh well XD.
Yeah, it's supposed to play back the race you ran, but it does it by button presses. Commonly it slides over too far and gets off-sync, which just leads to crashing, crashing, and more crashing.
About the boss battles, I would know that a lot would agree on this, but I was able to defeat Rocket Racer on my 1st try and later too, even though I got a help from Power engine and Shield generator and Grip Wheels. A lot say that you should not use ramps in order to defeat him but that is what I did and I had no problem defeating him even when I was using the ramp. Riegel and Berg were challenging for me to defeat each of them but not as hard as Rocket Racer or Sam Sanister, except the fact that Riegel and Berg were not using cars. The only time I lost from the boss race was when I was facing against The Berg. I saw that you are avoiding ramps except a few and I understand why, but like I was saying I had no problems with it. One last thing I want to mention you is that I don't know if you mentioned or know about this but this video game does not have any unlockables and even though it does, only maps and bonus levels and I think the portion of the car builder for each world. And unlike the original Lego Racers there is no unlockables for Character builder. When I did collect all the 35 gold bricks, it was only a firework and that was it.
Ending Credits: TIME PARADOX!!! THERE ARE 2 ROCKET RACERS! I'm not sure if you can make it out, but when the credits begin at 1:08:12 you see the winning staircase and Rocket Racer is up there
on the first race, there's 2 short cuts. After the first check point, go straight foward, you'll cut the hairpin and at the ship, go right past the chevons
I remember when I faced of rocket racer I got stuck in a wall for about a half minute. I still won because Rocket racer crashed into a wall for 45 seconds >_>
@changsmith It's the only reasonable thing to level up on. Sure, the steering stinks in this game, but I got used to it. Shield, I just never see myself needing it. Plus, did you notice how much I was leaving the computers in the dust? Poor Riegel.
Although the graphics, Lego worlds and car models were improved I never really enjoyed Lego Racers 2 as much as the original. The game had several major flaws. First those check points were supremely annoying and the power ups are crap and don't have much use compared to the one on Lego Racers 1. Building options are limited. Also no character quotes or taunts during the races. It's also rather boring to see all the different types of cars limited to their own terrain. It would be more interesting to mix up the grid and have a variety of different cars competing across different worlds. I've seen this can be done but only of your a high tech computer geek with these cheat codes. And a part from Mars the music isn't that good either.
Baron von Barron - known as Sam Sanister/Sinister here, even though that's Slyboots's name? He's a German (Nazi?) explorer who's always trying to steal Thunder's...thunder. I guess you could call him a bandit, but I wouldn't think of him as such. Plus, how does one steal anything but glory on an island of giant reptiles? I guess you could sell them, but that's not really banditing.

Hate that there are areas on some tracks where you are required to clear a jump/gap by going fast enough yet landing from the jump breaks your car. That's BS and poor game design!

The berg was my favorite and most memorable part of the game, I absolutely loved this game as child!
