    As a jewelry enthusiast I was instantly drawn to ur channel because even though u have a business, you still give advice even though it might send potential customers to another source. Thats a true jeweler for the people. That attitude and selflessness is the reason folks have chosen you as their jeweler. Because of the trust you have established. Its easy to become a self absorbed douchebag like Ap the Jeweler for example.

      +NoKreativeUsername Ya I just couldn't stand the attitudes that these jewelers have. I just want to give my honest opinion and help people out. I really never thought I would gain clients from my UA-cam channel but it's growing like crazy. I put more subscribers before dollars any day.

    At the end of the day gold is gold used are new don't matter a deal a deal as long as u like it it's real and the Grams most important

    • @Trd2020
      @Trd2020 5 років тому +2

      I have seen some used gold chains that are beat to shit. So no grams are not the only thing to worry about. If you buy a chain that looks terrible now you have to get it resurfaced.

    He's 100% correct. I worked in the pawn business for a few years in college and we tested every piece even if it was stamped and whether we were going to sell it for melt or keep for resale. It really does come down to personal preference.

    I recently bought a used 14kt gold rope chain at a pawn shop that weighs 20.7 grams of 14kt gold for $530.. so I paid only $90 more than the gold spot value of that chain for that day which is a great deal.. you won't be able to get that good of a price at any jewelry store.. by the way keep up the good videos Braden!

    • @jacoje
      @jacoje  7 років тому +4

      +Chance Wickham that's definitely a great deal! Pawn shops know what they're doing so you know your chain is legit too.

    You're correct it should be less if used. However some jewelers will not tell you it's used. And some will not lower the prices they will sale full price if as new. Yes you just have to do your research.

    I wonder if you can do a video on your thoughts about altering or customizing currently owned jewelry, for example if say someone wanted to lengthen a chain they currently own or should they just buy a new one at the desired length or if someone maybe wanted to set stones in a current ring or would it be best to find a ring with the stones already mounted. also it would be cool if you did a video where you show maybe your followers jewelry if they all email it too you or something, just a couple of ideas, keep up the good work!

      I think its better to buy an all new chain. As far as remounting goes, remounting is wonderful. I love remounted stones in pieces. Its like a whole new life for jewelry. They say you live 9 lives like a cat, well a good stone can be remounted and have many lives. All new looks, all new pieces.

    Some pawn shops are good and some are very over priced but generally cheaper than a jewelry store ,old gold is still as good as it was the day it was made if it's reconditioned and sold buy a expert jewelry deal in a pawn shop. as for ebay you can get any thing and get taken for your hard earned money or any other online dealer.

    Nice to see guys interested in real jewelry- There is nothing wrong with used jewelry. There is a good chance that new gold piece in the jeweler case was melted down from Spanish doubloons centuries ago and has assumed many shapes in the course of its existence.

    please and thankyou

    • @jacoje

      +andrew narain depends on the piece. I like 14kt gold overall. 10kt is good for rings and bracelets. 18kt+ is really nice obviously, I don't work with a lot of 22k.

      JACOJE LYNX I'd like to see Cuban link bracelets vs maybe Miami Cuban links or fiagro bracelets, I do enjoy the rope chain as a bracelet but it doesn't seem as many as a good chunky Cuban. Also what a good width is and just things like that in general, I really appreciate the quick response!
