Billy, of all the drone channels out there you give the most accurate and informative info out there. No bullshit, no silly comments just pure talent in both content and piloting skills. Big thanks Billy.
Nice video. I don't understand why DJI is so limited with their "only visual" tracking aproach. They can totally provide the option for remote/cellphone tracking. Even sell us a beacon. Even if it's uses it only when visual tracking is loss. Also. Automatic real-time home point update to remote location needs to be back with the traditional home and course-lock that got loss for no reason and where really useful in a lot of situations.
8:30 According to the drone, the drone is on your right side and it is trying to go behind your back, even though you are standing on the hoverboard and going in front but your body is turned towards the right side. That is why the drone is trying to move left, so that it can follow you by going from behind you as per the command. (Follow from back). If you were walking on foot or by bike, the drone would not try to move to the left.
Hi Billy. Amazing improvement in active track. I would be interested to see the 3x camera being used in ideal conditions and at the legal closeness, to see how large a person or car is in frame.
It did surprisingly well while using the 70m in those tight locations. And I even liked the shots it got when you raised it above the treeline. Great testing, and you do these tracking video's better than anyone. Thanks for sharing.
This is interesting: although the Mavic 3 (pro or classic) has omnidirectional obstacle avoidance sensors, and APAS 5, it still seems to be performing poorer than the Mini 3 Pro, in those tight spaces (aka trees). I think this is probably due to the smaller size of the Mini 3 Pro that allows it to more easily find its way in between those smaller gaps, in spite the lack of sideways facing OA sensors.
This was cool to see for what to expect. I ordered one of these but I also have and love my Skydio. For tracking yourself nothing still competes. But pros and cons to each. Excited for this to arrive
I think it was lagging behind while using the 3x lense because it was trying to fly behind your back, which at the time was facing the trees, hence causing the issue.
Most of the issues was with obstacle avoidance, which seems to override trying to track. Don't forget object avoidance doesn't use the main camera. I'm impressed with the avoidance, didn't know it worked from the side. I wonder if active track takes some advantage of the avoidance cameras.
Thank you for putting your M3P to the test for us. I learned a lot. Your audio sounded amazing. Were you recording into the RC Pro or do you have an audio recorder on you?
I would like to see this active track on the mavic 3 Engerprice. Lots of situations where that would cool. Same regarding the 3 thermal. Use because it’s a work drone don’t mean you play with also. I got them both and miss the active track. When and if you need too track a person in SAR it would be super if the thermal could active track
This just makes me nervous when they are put to these tests and it has to not only stay locked on you, but it has a whole another set of programing trying to dodge all kinds of stuff and the priority of staying tracked on you is lowered. Not sure anytime soon were going to see the quote unquote drone that can just dodge everything perfectly and stay on the person in these tight settings. I just don't want to see it hit a tree limb and come crashing down, because you you know its going to break and your going to be sending it back to DJI for repair or we all know replacement of the drone! DJI is King when it comes to drones and they options and performance they offer! Amazing technology hands down!
All things considered it did a pretty good job! I was impressed with the first move early in the video where it went around the trees and still found you, audio sounded great!👍
That’s crazy how it went around that big a$$ tree and lost you around the round about, but then again was it just pure luck it did that since it ran into a tree shortly after. Another great video Billy.
Maaaaaaan not bad, almost sold it for me personally. But I'll still get the Pro regardless from the classic. The compression looks sick. I see you guys are getting that Canada forest Wild Fires smoke as well 😔 how is Active Track in low light yo no light with only the street lights on? I know the M2P can in low light, just wondering if they fixed that with the M3P. Thanks for the video Billy 🙌🏾
I just tried this tonight with my Mavic 3 pro and it got stuck several times in bypass mode. I switched to side follow mode and it almost backed into several trees. This was the first time I this so...
Don't think I would trust it, planing on going to central Australia in the desert, don't think I would have the same problem and to be able to rotate around me is going to be epic
I don't know I didn't feel like it was a positive result. Kinda get the feeling if you did that test 9 more time at the same spot it will crash. Too much going on with the trees and branches for the Tele lens and drone to be so low
That's really sad, a $3000 drone that doesn't pass such a simple test. The DJI Mini 3 Pro would have done it without any problems. Activ Track works great on the DJI Mini 3 Pro.
Dude your audio is crazy good!
Riiight! I was paying more attention to the audio than the video at one point lol

Where a helmet. We need you for the mavic pro 4, and phantom 5
Nearly had heart attack in the first 30 seconds. I need to get Active Care on my Mavic 3 Pro before running those moves!

I’m dying to know how you recorded the audio for this video!!!
he probaly used a seperate mic and timecoded it or just synced it with a clap

You did a great job had some great moves a crash and some lost subjects but it would do awesome in an open place. Great video billy.

Great to know active track works with the 70mm - amazing obstacle avoidance! I'm very much enjoying the creative possibilities of my M3 Pro!
Most of the issues was with obstacle avoidance, which seems to override trying to track.

I wonder if active track takes some advantage of the avoidance cameras.
So how are you liking the Air 3 so far?
Nice to see the drone bounce back from the crash, gives me hope that DJI built this one as rugged as the Mavic 2 Pro.
Dude that freaken move was awesome when it dodged the trees and picked you back up when on the 70mm. I was hoping it wpd have done more of that
Thank you for putting your M3P to the test for us. I learned a lot. Your audio sounded amazing. Were you recording into the RC Pro or do you have an audio recorder on you?
Great video Billy and great demonstration of the active track😊
Very well done! Thanks, Billy. Very impressive on all accounts. Cheers! 😀
Activetrack is much improved now
Holy wow....that was impressive move around the trees.
When it loses the subject, it should temporarily switch to wide angel to be able to relocate it.
Great test Billy. What’s the audio recording method? We all want to know!

Billy, You really know how to put a fantastic video together.

Impressed that you can carry on a narrative while active without a line of 'you know' and 'um'
Nice video Billy👍
It looks like it would be best suited mounted on a stick like a selfie camera.
The crasch is Probably because the lateral captor are less effecient than the front and bac captor...
All things considered it did a pretty good job! I was impressed with the first move early in the video where it went around the trees and still found you, audio sounded great!👍
Wow, the tree part was truly amazing.
The Skydio 2 has been doing that for years
That’s crazy how it went around that big a$$ tree and lost you around the round about, but then again was it just pure luck it did that since it ran into a tree shortly after. Another great video Billy.
great test...HOW did you record the clear, crisp Audio??
that first two minutes was amazing lmfaooo,
Maaaaaaan not bad, almost sold it for me personally. But I'll still get the Pro regardless from the classic. The compression looks sick.

Thanks insane..no fear ! Thanks !
I just tried this tonight with my Mavic 3 pro and it got stuck several times in bypass mode. I switched to side follow mode and it almost backed into several trees. This was the first time I this so...
omg you crashed this beauty and still laughed it off 😂 I'd be bricking it!
Don't think I would trust it, planing on going to central Australia in the desert, don't think I would have the same problem and to be able to rotate around me is going to be epic
Why did the obstacle avoidance fail? That's pretty bad. Did report thus to DJI?
스폰서 소개하는 최고의 타이밍이었어 ㅎㅎ
ill wait for the air 3s
I wonder what the results would be if the drone was tracking the controller
Or a combination?
It's time for DJI to track your phone's position via gps....such an obvious solution for when it loses track on the subject.
Shouldn't the Mavic pro 3 been able to fly around or above that ?
I was ducking at every branch 😂
I always hate when my drone crashes are you being dropped in the grass because I feel like my drone is not at 100% capacity anymore is it’s just me
Wanted to buy for riding a motorbike. But after watching this i will go for another brand drone. Pity because the quality of the video is good.
Im really about to sell my mavic 3 and get the pro for that 70mm lol. Help!
WoW!
I don't know I didn't feel like it was a positive result. Kinda get the feeling if you did that test 9 more time at the same spot it will crash. Too much going on with the trees and branches for the Tele lens and drone to be so low
My 1X camera on my Dji mavic 3 pro not working
Wow it crashed and it’s flying again 😮
It was a small crash, it wasn't like falling from a 50 stories building or something
It doesn't use the remote as a secondary tracker. And they need better sensors for the next generation as of this video 😂
That's really sad, a $3000 drone that doesn't pass such a simple test. The DJI Mini 3 Pro would have done it without any problems. Activ Track works great on the DJI Mini 3 Pro.
noice
Skydio tracks so much better
Skydio 2 is way better. DJI needs to catchup!!!
Could you imagine commenting this? 💀
@@billykyle DJI is better with everything else, besides tracking, which this video was about. Skydio 2 is much better at tracking.
ActiveTrack not good 😅
What is that bad ass one wheeler thingy you are riding ?
Haha it's called a OneWheel.
