Even the banter makes me swoon.
I knew she had something original with her voice, and I knew that she was an amazing songwriter, but I never knew she was such a talented harp player. The part starting at 3:10 is seriously insane!
whoever dislikes this video obviously lacks the knowledge of what true beautiful music really sounds like.
I simply adore this woman. Forever grateful we have such a talented genius in music.
How could anyone dislike this. She's an awesome musician and lyricist, and she's beautiful inside and out. She's a trifecta.

oh my god I love Joanna so much she's just so sweet.. great concert here in Portugal Aula Magna Lisbon 2007... I was there! I'l never forget it one of the best moments of my life :)

Joanna Newsom live is almost a religious experience. I saw her a couple years ago and I felt like I had just spent an hour and a half in heaven.
My son introduced me to "Sprout and the Bean" from the movie The Strangers" So, I got us tickets to see her live in Tampa at the Ritz. She did this song, and Colleen, my two favorites! They were great that night!
I heard her collaboration with The Roots in 2010 long before discovering her music just last night and today. She is amazing and reminds me of Kate Bush in her style. Late to the party but glad I found her!

@gnitleinad monitors are the speakers for the sound on stage, they need to be loud enough so that the sound of the speakers directed to the audience don't overpower her own sound. in other words, it's so she can hear herself better. when playing with a more full band, they are very important, cause other band members can overpower your own sound on stage.
she has such a lovely and blasting voice!! i cant believe that's possible to sound that amazing - its like inner peace immidately :)))

@gitchigoomi Do you have any idea about music or how it is constructed or written? Clearly you don't, because if you did you would be able to put your opinions aside and appreciate her for the artist that she is.
Hahaha yeah this is the first time I've heard this song (though I've loved Ys for a long time), and what she does rhythmically in this song is pretty tight. All it takes is practice, though.

Why are you so angry? I don't know why I connected the two, it was just a random thought I had. I personally just don't agree with Ayn's interpretation of things, and for some reason as I was caught up in the aura of Joanna's kindness, had this random thought.
