Thankyou. The shirt and jacket were made by masking and extracting a new mesh. I then used dynamesh and the move tool to change the new meshs shape. The folds were created using the clay, standard and DamStandard brushes. Hope that helps
As I begin establishing the major forms in the early stages I stay in the lower subdivisions and then slowly build up the details and subdivide when I need to. If I need to make any larger changes I'll switch back to a lower subdiv level or stay on a high level for smaller changes. I generally jump to whatever subdivision is going to work best.
So amazing! its people like you who simultaneously inspire me to keep learning 3d art, and make me want to give up immediately because I'll never be that good!! Awesome stuff dude!
Really impressive Adam, as loads of us specially like the polypaint of this character, though the model by itself specially the final expression is exceptional. Keep on with the great work man!
awesome work and true inspiration. You are another reminder why i decided to get in this field. Keep up the good work and post more video like this one. Always nice to see the techniques used by other fellow artists.. :)
This is... just... perfect. You got ALL the details. Congratulations on your work, it's awesome! You HAVE to do this with Corvo... it would be amazing! :D
Thanks. The 2 strands of hair at the front are made from dynameshed cylinders and were kept as separate subtools. I'm not sure what cut you're referring to, but I used masking, the move tool and DamStandard brushes on the coat. Hope that helps :)
Amazing all your process... but what amazes me the most is the way you get that color and texture strait from Zbrush... I might have to give it a go to Polypaint because of you! Thanks for sharing. Amazing again!
1. I use Zbrush for sculpting and sometimes texturing 2. I've been digital sculpting for quite a few years. Just practice as much as you and you'll start improving. 3. Creativity always helps with interpreting concept art. Some concept art is very loose, while others are very detailed, so sometimes it's more about interpreting the details rather than being super creative.
THis is so damn inspiring! just pure awesomeness! i am truly stunned! and have great respect you can muster the self control to keep the detailing for the last ;) i always start detailing after 2 min and end with crap...
I'm sure it's possible to sculpt with a mouse, but I wouldn't want to. I use symmetry to sculpt both sides up to a point and then I begin to "break" the symmetry. There are plenty of anatomy lessons out there, just gotta search for them. Sculpting= using brushes to push/pull shapes, generally dealing with high density meshes in programs like Zbrush. Modeling= creating polygons, extruding, adding edgeloops, etc to create topology (the polygon flow of the mesh) in programs like Maya or 3d max
You can try retopologizing the mesh, giving some extra polys in the specific areas either manually or using the Zremesher tools in Zbrush and then projecting the details onto the new mesh. Or if you don't need to retopo the whole mesh, then their are tools to edge extra loops. Hope that helps.
Z-brush is an incredibly high polygon sculpting program. While the character could look this good in the game, his model alone would take up gigabytes of ram if exported as is. Video games need to use low poly meshes to reduce the amount of memory each character uses up. Low poly meshes also make them easier to animate. It's all a real-time vs. pre-rendered thing. It is an amazing sculpt though. Absolutely amazing.
Does anybody else wish that there was a nicer version of this song for us LOW chaos nerds? I mean really, the first time I played this game I killed everybody. When I got poisoned though and then I was sad... But I then deleted all my saves and restarted as low chaos. I hope I was able to prove it to ya Sam... Rest in peace.
Really good and no time wasted on unnecessary stuff. The hair was just a few strokes and look great. Everything done masterfully! I just wonder, why you make only a bust. How was that used with the rest of the body? Wouldn't it make sense to sculpt either a head or a body, but not a bust?
WOW, fantastic job. and the choice of the music it's amazing with your work. this is what music band (soundtrack)?? you have a bright future in the field, I'm sure... Thanks for sharing this
Watching this is like being a kid at a magic show.
This video deserves more views! Outstanding work!
the amount of detail you put into even the parts that wont be seen is mind boggling
The artwork is amazing. Especially after the paint phase, looks strangely real.
Absolutely MASTERful. Simply no other word for the talent on display here.
Thanks for sharing!
Awesome work there Mr.Fisher! I had to share it the minute I saw it. :) Great use of the Drunken Whaler also. :D

It's amazing to notice the pass the uncanny valley as the video goes on, until you get out the other side.
Thankyou. I think it was roughly 5-6 hours for sculpting and around 2 for polypainting and cleanup.
So amazing! its people like you who simultaneously inspire me to keep learning 3d art, and make me want to give up immediately because I'll never be that good!! Awesome stuff dude!
Amazingly hypnotizing. I love Zbrush timelapses.
wow, this is some bomb fanart
it's cool to see the same model in a little less stylized way.
Insane bro. I can't imagine it being done any better! Thanks for the time lapse!
Incredible Adam. Very happy to have found this video :)
a huge dose of talent here!!!
Really impressive Adam, as loads of us specially like the polypaint of this character, though the model by itself specially the final expression is exceptional. Keep on with the great work man!
Absolutely fabulous work.

Nice artistic skills, i really like how he's face is incorrect, asymmetric and stuff, and the expression.... .that's a 100% thumbs up
Impressive Art and I love The Drunken Whaler - Dishonored soundtrack
He has a certain Hugo Weaving-esque look to him. This is incredible!
This music is from the Dishonored OST. This is the cover of famous pirate song 'Drunken Sailor'
awesome sculpt! leaps and bounds since the tafe days, stuff that would make tony and his pdf's weep :p
This is... just... perfect.
You got ALL the details. Congratulations on your work, it's awesome!
You HAVE to do this with Corvo... it would be amazing! :D
You, sir, are an art GOD.
Such amazing work, sir!
Incredible work!
Also, if they make a movie out of Dishonored I hope they cast Hugo Weaving as Lord Pendleton, they are vaguely similar.
This is beautiful work. Well done, really.
sculpture is amazing and all, but damn that song is sick as hell.
Thanks. The 2 strands of hair at the front are made from dynameshed cylinders and were kept as separate subtools. I'm not sure what cut you're referring to, but I used masking, the move tool and DamStandard brushes on the coat. Hope that helps :)
Thanks everyone for the comments and feedback!

This is sick. Great skill. Keep it up !
the dishonored theme is epic.
a master at work
This is insanely good! And you did it in a matter of hours! :o
I'd love to see somebody do this with sculpey or some kind of modeling clay. Fantastic job.
That was incredible!
wow! that was amazing. i don't know where you get the patience from. That was really great!

very good work man, congrats!!!!
cool song :) really fits the sculpt ... obviously
Amazing man, amazing.
damn :) came out awesome man. Thanks for sharing.
Love this, if you still have full video, it'd be nice to see something slower for the beginning facial anatomy part
I'm sure it's possible to sculpt with a mouse, but I wouldn't want to.

beautiful job man ! asymmetry ftw
Amazing!
This is better than the official in-game model!

Really, Great work.
Really nice!

Superb.
The software is Zbrush. You can find more info on it at pixologic[dot]com
wow superb!
amazing! great job!
wait, something's wrong here: this model looks better than the characters that are actually IN dishonored.

Tyler H Although you're not wrong about the low poly thing but even a million of traingles don't take up anything close to gigabytes

When I got poisoned though and then I was sad... But I then deleted all my saves and restarted as low chaos. I hope I was able to prove it to ya Sam... Rest in peace.
Amazing!!!!!
wow,thanks for sharing. very inspiring!
Very nice Adam as usual haha
Yeah, you could get the same result using an extracted region and dynameshing.
Exquisite.
I would be cool to have that sculpture like a bust in your room
Beautiful work, thank you for sharing! :)
AMAZIN! Try Corvo! That would really be a treat
Una obra d'art!
Noticed the official Dishonored mention? Sure you did. Anyway, you have one!
awesome man
Nice Sculpt, contrived music.
This is amazing!! For me as a student this is really inspiring. I wann see more :D

I just wonder, why you make only a bust. How was that used with the rest of the body? Wouldn't it make sense to sculpt either a head or a body, but not a bust?
WOW!
amazing.
Fantastic! Trully inspiring!
