This is an ongoing problem for me. I don't garden, but ants literally PILE into my house through the front door when the weather gets too hot outside. I keep my kitchen very clean every summer, hoping this will deter them, but to no avail. Eventually, I always resort to placing bait. If not, they get into and onto everything to the point that I can't even cook in my home because the counter tops, stove, and EMPTY AND DRY sink are all overrun with ants.
