Buongiorno Signor Lars lo scarico Remus è una valida alternativa ad Akrapovic. Ma poi solo con il terminale il Sound migliora o è uguale all'originale. Grazie mille.
I made the switch and GT IS WHERE ITS AT.... it’s like a Swiss Army knife that can do it all + if you wanna look sporty AF later just ride without tip box abs side bags and return to OEM windscreen and BAM pure sexy again
You seem the best set up of the GT riders I have seen to answer this question, how is it two up (especially given the top box) for a tour? Room and comfort for your pillion? Thanks in advance
The Mrs thinks it’s great for travelling. Of course she needs to get into place with a top box in place, but the comfort is great. I have also replaced the original seats (never tried the original) and also the small “pillow” on the top box for the passenger. Her earlier references are the Honda VFR800, Honda super black bird, Honda Varadero etc, but she feels this is absolutely a good comfort level as a passenger
Hello Good video and great bike, I have a multistrada and thinking to swich it by a 19'GT, but I have one doubt how confortable for the passenger as she grab the rear handle when the rear top box support is installed? Thanks.
@@mavvegbg Thanks, I was thinking that with that plate, they passenger would be able to use it grab it like some handle.. you tried?.. or it is not possible by size/distance?.. I didn't saw it at person so I can't make a good picture of free space, size, position to know it if was possible..
Hi. Now that you've had the bike for a while with the Puig touring screen plus the MRA X-creen, what are your impressions for wind/rain protection, noise and buffeting compared to the original screen? How does the Puig do without the X-creen? How tall are you? I just bought a 2016 SDGT and I plan to do a lot of sport touring. I like the original windscreen--although there is a fair amount of wind with it, it is clean without much buffeting and noise. But if the Puig reduces wind/rain a lot without too much buffeting and noise, I will switch. Thanks!
Hi! At first I only got the Puig screen and although it reduced the wind, it still wasn´t giving the effect I hoped for, so I added the MRA screen. Together they give a really good effect reducing wind/buff./noise (I´m 180 cm). The MRA screen is also adjustable, so you can "fold" it down to the touring screen, if not needed. I prefer the more half naked style/look with the OEM screen for everyday use (not sitting behind a big screen), and only use the PUIG+MRA for touring purposes, where I prefer not being in the wind for whole days of driving. Since it´s so easy to switch, it doesn´t bother me doing the 10 min switch when it´s needed.
Yes, it´s the topbox that KTM recommends to the GT. It´s a Givi 48l topbox with carrier plate for mounting. Works great. The only down side is that you get a seperate key for the top box, while the sideboxes use the ignition key
Hi. Thanks for an informative video. Do you mind providing the part numbers, or similar, for the two screens so I don’t order the wrong ones? 😎 Thanks in advance. Best regards, Lars
@@mrlars3166 Thank you for your reply. I disagree with one of your other viewers negative comments on this video being "useless". I found it quite useful along with your replies. Thanks for showing the transformation!
I like the seats - doubtless comfortable for touring and heating is sursprisingly easy to get used to when the daily temperature is dropping (I equipped my bike with the optional seats from the beginning, so I can´t compare to oem.)

I have always been an rr bike person and now that I am in a certain age (30+) I am looking for compromise. Been Super horny for this bike in a couple of the past weeks. Since new one is out of my budget I am casualy looking for a used one. Do you know if they are all the same, motor equipement etc. years 2016, 17, 18 ? And would you say its a good compromise with a good deal of RR dna in this bike ? Thanks a lot ...
As for the different year models, I believe ´16 & ´17 are the same. The 2018 I don´t know. Since it´s a big v-twin, the motor character is pretty raw and might be a bit different from a typical R4. It´s really easy getting a big smile on your face when turning the throttle :-). I use for different purposes - commuting, sport touring and more active driving as well, and think it´s a really great bike. If possible do a test drive - don´t think you will get disappointed...
Martin Lindsten thanks a lot... I am kind of on the fence between this and the new kawasaki h2sx tourer since its more kind of on the rr side. But I keep hearing nothing but praise about this bike. Guess I'll have to try them both.
Honestly, this is a truly useless video clip. It’s shot in such high speed that one cannot actually see anything that has been done. You could simply summarise this video in a short paragraph: “Fit a tall touring windscreen, add panniers and a top box bracket and dropbox.“ Surely the point of eight video should be so that people can see what you were doing?
The intention of the video was to show the "transforming" of the GT from street style to more functional for touring and how it looks with some parts mounted. I hope you find step by step videos elsewhere and hope you have a nice day.
Martin Lindsten I never said I was looking for step by step videos. I have a GT and have fitted everything I need, I said THIS video serves no purpose at all. I mean take the top box and it’s mounting. You can’t even see the make! There is zero to learn from this fast forward sprint. Even your stated objective of showing what the bike looks like when fully dressed is largely missed. Even that is so quick one can take in very much. I got tired of stopping the video every few seconds so I could look at the bike properly. And if you want to run the clip at hyper speeds, why don’t you ar least speak? Tell us what parts you are fitting.
Stunning looking bike these. Nice video.

I agree - it´s nice to switch easily from touring mode to everyday mode
Is that Remus exhaust a slip-on? Also did you have to do any remapping?

The rear handle is removed and replaced with a fitting plate for the top box, so there's no handles for the passenger when having a top box mounted

KTM original, www.ktm-parts.com/61412927033.html
With the upgrades is it comfortable for long trips?
Jim Tucker Yes, I think it works great for touring. Comfortable and a big difference with these windscreens during long drives.
