I struggled with Sloman at first, he was just so different from the incredible Byron and excellent Lawton, but overtime I must say his vocals were damn good. This was not Uriah Heep though, more a soft pop band sound like 'Foreigner'.
If you listen to Hensley's solo album FREE SPIRIT you might consider a Conquest 2 without Sloman. For me Sloman was the right vocalist for the conquest album, but not for singing the old material.
The line-up that I unfortunately missed because I had bad grades at school and my father didn't allow me to go to the concert at the time, even though I already had my ticket.

You can tell that John was in some sort of a Zeppelin tribute band before he joined because he dresses exactly like Robert plant and he's got that Plant scream . Uriah Heep were trying to adjust to the 80s and I think they did a good job with the singer they chose but maybe he doesn't fit the band as well as he could.
Sloman had a good voice , but his style was all wrong for Uriah Heep , imo. I call this style gargling; picture Carl from Aqua Teen Hunger Force show complaining about the "widdley-wah" on guitar, but vocally instead. I am sure there are people happy with Sloman's singing, but I'm not one of them
I’m surprised that the band was still called UH at this point in their career. VERY odd to see them without Ken Hensley and Lee Kerslake during this performance - but Chris Slade IS a great drummer. However , John Sloman just was NOT the right singer for UH. I’m not trashing him at all - seems like a pretty good voice - but not the voice of UH. Let’s face it - for Heep fans who have been listening to them from the very beginning David Byron will ALWAYS be their favorite singer. John Lawton had a good voice too - and I think he was definitely a better fit then John Sloman - and their current singer Bernie Shaw is good too - a great lead man - but in MY opinion the nucleus of UH was Box/Byron/ Hensley. Without those 3 all together the music has lost a lot of what I liked - and I miss the harmonizing vocals of Byron and Hensley. Just an opinion from someone who’s been a Heep fan since 1971.

There are 2 versions. Another with Pete Goalby (voc) on Abominog

He kind of looks like David Johansen.
Do you have the others songs ? they were recorded too ...
Hi. I don't have any more John Sloman videos. But these videos are on Bronze Records. And record producer Rob Corich have this videos too.
Kansas with a different name. I was disappointed they didn't bust into a medley including "People of the South Wind."
