Absolutely lovely! I am obsessed with LV especially the vintage bags. I have bags as old as 40 that still look fabulous. I have found that I can get the canvas really clean by using an old toothbrush and soapy water (rinse well with damp cloth) to get all of the grime out from between the little bumps on the canvas. Gently scrub in a circular motion and you’ll be shocked how much dirt there is. I’m currently working on a trousse 28 from 1982. It’s in perfect condition, just dirty.

Do you find that the pattern of the monogram varies over the years? I’m trying to work out if all bags have different monogram on seam lines etc

Now I want an alma! I clean my canvas with a toothbrush and elbow grease, saw it on a Facebook group, it work wonders as the toothbrush gets into the creases of the canvas.

Hi Mrs crazy bag lady no 1 lol no 2 hear lol I cleaned my Louis multicolour zip after watching your video I was scared when I seen all the green in the cloth so I stopped doing it is it ok to carry on ? ashy does it go green is it taking the gold colour off ? X
Yes that’s right it’s the green coming of the more u do it the more the gold will shine through xx
Can you help me? I bought a vintage alma and the bag is a bit out of shape (dents for example). How can i get back in shape like your bag? Thanks in advance
Hi you can store it with a bag liner in it that’s made for a Alma and you can try warming the canvas with a hair dryer and try the massage the creases and dints hope that helps
Hi Jayne, thanks for sharing this. I wonder if you even tried to clean leather handles on any of your other vintage bags? Do you this process will work on handles? I bought a pre_loved multi color alma bag and I am going to try to clean, but a bit scared to touch the handle. Thanks
Yes of you use the leather cream on the handles it does clean them the only thing it does make them go darker but I don’t mind that x
Old Louis > New Louis! Could you wear it with a cross body strap like the Alma PM or would it be too bulky? I kind of don't care for a speedy as a cross body for that reason.
Yes I could add a strap to it ,I think it would look nice xx
