  • Bryan Lynn and Caty Weaver are the hosts of the VOA Learning English podcast for Wednesday, August 7, 2024.
0:53 Bryan starts the program with a report on sea lions off the coast of California with signs of algae poisoning. The poison is produced by microscopic algae eaten by shellfish or small fish. Those shellfish or fish are often eaten by sea lions, dolphins or birds. The algae can also sicken humans. And the Santa Barbara-based Channel Islands Marine & Wildlife Institute said it had rescued at least 23 animals. learningenglis...

19:53 Andrew returns with Jill Robbins for Lesson of the Day based on Let’s Learn English. The special lesson centers on the not-so-boring highlight of the series. And Anna Matteo joins them to discuss the children’s series Let’s Learn English with Anna.
Caty and Bryan then sign off.
