- I went to the Egyptian village during Ramadan 2024 and lived like a Muslim for 72 hours.
On my recent trip to rural Egypt, I visited the small town of Abusir, around 25km southwest of Cairo, and 11km south of the Great Pyramids of Giza.
Thank you to Hatem for spending 3 days with me, showing me what local life is like for many Egyptians, teaching me about farming, and inviting me to his family home to try some local village food for Iftar, or the breaking of fast! He also gave us a great interview and it was a pleasure to be able to celebrate Eid al-Fitr (the end of Ramadan) with 20,000 other people in the desert!

As an Egyptian, i can say our country isnt that good, i mean people will only be nice to you if youre an imaginat or if youre higher than them and everything is soo expensive as an Egyptian not as an an imagrant and theres trash everywhere

YES: I unequivocally respect you for having such an open mind and open heart with regards to travel and not cynically succumbing to sensationalist clickbait and claptrap and so forth regarding other cultures that I'm confident most who've uttered it have never even been there themselves and are just armchair quarterbacking.
THIS and your Wyoming city video really reflect your truer calling and what's going to really make your content stand out. And even if this video winds up getting fewer views than some of your much more polished content..............I wouldn't read too much into that and encourage you to double down on this more vulnerable, lived-in approach because I feel this is "grower" content that some will need a little getting used to but will endear more ultimately. And really you should just make content that speaks to your heart and soul first and foremost anyway, with financial incentives being a distant second...............so I say just keep this awesome work up, and rest assured you can always release some more polished videos in-between anyway. =)

This was the start of a new type of content which does feel a lot more "me" and I'm excited to try out a few styles as I travel more and talk about places I visit.
I know it will probably take a bit of time before I work out the kinks and polish up this new style of video and they get views, but it's fun learning and trying new things and I haven't been this excited to make content in awhile!
Mango I can't lie, I miss your old channel, but this growth as a person, this channel in general, im proud of you and whatever you do I'll always come back to see a couple of your videos

I was in Cairo in 91 I was a very young neive 21 yr old guy .I wasn't aware of how much americans were hated .I was approached by 5 soldiers while in a disco club while with my local chaperone and we were asked to take the American outta here so we left ..I enjoyed 11 days there ....I enjoyed many meals on the river nile ,i also stayed close by the river ,i enjoyed myself ....enjoy
