Forestella never copies. They always take the song and make it into their own. They’re being recognized one of the best if not the best Quartet around the world. K-pop idols can’t or won’t ever get to their level of their musicality and vocality. These guys are actually skilled talents unlike pretty manufactured boys like idols.
The whole premise of the show is to see how different artists would reinterpret a song. I've been watching a couple of uploads and it's been really entertaining and interesting so far! Though comments like the user before me are so unwarranted lol

Forestella has 2 classically trained opera singers who have been trained since they were 15/16 to sing in a concert hall without a mic and went to the country's top conservatory (SNU College of Music). Their oldest member is from the country's top theater school (K-Arts) and Korean university theater departments generally include singing lessons in case their students wish to go into musical theater. How on earth is an idol group member going to compete with that kind of training? That said, even the Forestella guys admitted that pulling off Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal was a huge challenge because they weren't used to dancing while singing. Would it be warranted to comment that 3 of them were so stiff during the dance parts? No, instead we applaud them for paying homage to MJ in an authentic way.

Almost all of EXO's songs are performed/covered by other singer with seriously and magnificently and it fits even better because vocals are the main point of EXO songs.
Forestella is not idol, actually. They are a crossover group, more like Korean Il Divo, if I may say. But yes, they are also dubbed "The Idol group of the Crossover World" due to their versatility and how they look more like idol than classically-trained singers😋
Not many of Kpop idols are vocalists like EXO. Some groups doesn't even have good vocalist. That's why it wasn't covered by many idols. But, I think ... this group is vocalists group not idols. They don't dance, rap and do some kpop poses. They are pure vocalists (may be Opera Singers) I think.

kpop is not a true representation of the vast and numerous talented musicians/singers in korea, they just unfortunately don't receive international recognition like kpop does, mainly because for a long time they simply didn't market or promote themselves internationally. I would say however that the current age of social media and kpop's popularity in the west has opened doors for more of these amazing artists, like forestella, to be discovered.
Nah, they did a good job as the first group to cover MAMA but nothing will ever top EXO’s version. EXO’s MAMA still gives me goosebumps to this day 😮💨😮💨
