Hwang Jin-i (黃 眞 伊, 1506-1567) was a poet, writer, calligrapher, musician, and dancer in the mid-Joseon period. She is a gisaeng who was active in the times of King Jungjong and Myeongjong (early and mid 16th century). She was born during the reign of King Jungjong as the eldest daughter of Jinsa with the surname of the Gaeseong Hwang clan, and her biological father is unknown. In addition to poetry, painting, and dance, she was fluent in Shin Confucianism and six librarians, and also got along with her high school teacher and her clan. She was well versed in Confucianism and academic knowledge, and was a great poet and a great painter. She has traveled across the country, building relationships and relationships with many scholars, leaving many of her poems and paintings in her works. However, due to the Imjin War and the Horan of the Sick, most of his works were put into action, and most of his works were lost because they were undervalued and poorly preserved as they were regarded as synonymous with lewdness.
