Very, very cool stuff indeed!! I’m learning a bit and getting excited about studying for my General Class HAM License! Thank you for sharing this project. - 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Arduino failure was probably a leaky bit of code somewhere eating your memory hence everything comes to a grinding halt.

That’s what I thought at first, but I kept an eye on it and lots of memory space. I did have issues when I was using the UNO, so changed to the mega and solved the issue until this freezing started to happen. The Arduino didn’t even reboot itself, it just hung. Anyhow, probably solved by using Node Red, although this brings its own issues! lol cheers

More nice work mate, keep it up.
    Good choice with Node Red.

Hi Matt, thanks for the excellent video.
Could you please write a lsit of the componants and where you bought them. I would also like a detailed description of the setup of OBS and the TX software. I cannot get this to work properly. I am sure there are other people who would like these descriptions.
    Many thanks once again.

Nice job, Matt. I do simultaneously SSB and DATV on the same time. It give me more fun and connections to Colleagues who do not have ability to contact on DATV.

I’m actually thinking about going down this route too. Being able to switch between the two is cool, but running both at the same time is even better. I actually have all the gear to setup another dedicated NB transceiver, so I may just do it :)

Congratulations Matt that looks awesome. Great fix removing the Arduino and moving to NodeRed on the Pi. Thanks again Matt I really enjoyed seeing this build. Take care friend and enjoy the results.

discrete lack of of ferrite beads.. you should rf shield all boards individually then it will be solid no internal noise also is the tv card 75oam receiver? did you bother to match the input coax?

Ferrite beads? Blimey, haven’t used those for over 20 years when I built professional Infra Red audio transmitters. Of course I used 75 ohm coax for the LNB, I’m a FULL license holder don’t you know! 😂

Nice. Looking forward to the demo on the BATC net tomorrow. Can't read over 16v sounds like a value stored as a 16 bit signed int in mV not being handled properly somewhere. E.g. parity bits vs 2s compliment, adc a cal factor etc.

Nice one Matt, really coming together, love the Node Red stuff - not sure i have the necessary coding skills but as you say 'get out of your comfort zone'!

I heard on one of the Hamcation videos that the fast scan equipment going to ISS has been checked and will be brought up in months. Is this the same system and should we in the US jump on this?

Looks great! Have you considered adding some DIN rail? The RPi could then be mounted vertically, and there are some excellent DIN rail PSUs by the likes of Meanwell which would also help save some space. Just a though.

There are also DIN rail ethernet switches...

Looking good! I assume you used the Pluto for the bespoke software rather than the plus as I believe it’s not supported? Hope to be on QO-100 soon once the amp arrives.. ‘73 de M0DQO
