Hi from Japan. The 8P type A3 lineup in Japan only has an automatic car, so it's very fresh. Manual cars have not been sold at Audi authorized dealers since 2016 after the S1.
I've had the 1.6 8V engine twice, in my 8L and my 8P. I'm young so those were my choices, and they are really reliable engines. Although the sensors in the exhaust will fail alot, and the check engine lights come on more often than it should, it always drives and drives good. It can stretch its legs for 102hp.
I have the 2.0T A3 8P now, which is alot more unreliable than the 1.6.
If you eant reliable, get the 1.6.
1 thing I did notice is that some of the higher mileage ones is that when you turn on the AC, the idling drops a bit and will wobble a little bit.
You are completely right, on mine if I don’t turn on the AC the revs wobble a lot. If I turn it on it stables a bit but you can still feel the car wobble.
No clue what it is, mechanics and forums don’t know either so. Check engine sometimes comes on when AC is off but turns off after some rides.
Weird but other than that it’s a very reliable and comfy car. :)
@@carfanatic99 post more povs with it :D
@@TheTom7 Haha I can always post some more :P
Did you ever get white smoke coming out of the exhaust on the 1.6 ?
@@carfanatic99 ive got the same problem. i bought mine 4 days ago and i dont know why but when i turn on Econ the engine becomes a bit "unround". It doesnt feel like its really bad but i doesnt feel healthy. No check engine light tho

Nice video! I’m considering buying 1.8 TFSI s-tronic. What do you think?
Hi ! I got Audi a3 2008 8p 1.6 fsi ,6 gears ...when Im driving fast on a highway I dont feel too safe in it while driving on a country roada is wonderful..And my second downside is its really hard on bumpy roads .
And its slow ,im driving 150 km on 4000 rpm in siyth gear .thats very slow
Hey there, do you have the 1.6 MPI or FSI (6 gears)?
@@carfanatic99 fsi 6 gears ...its slow like motherfcker ,it get some speed when im pushing him to 4000-5000 rpm
This was the MPI, so even slower haha and it had 5 speeds. On the highway it was whining a lot 😂
@@carfanatic99 omg so there is slower version than my fsi .What were they thinking making car slow like that .Yes,especially on highways
1.6 is slow but reliable, 1.9 / 2.0 tdi are fast and reliable 😍😍😍😍
2.0 TDI depends which one. They got problems with Carbon clogging. My 2.0 TDI (motor code BKD) is known for cylinder head problems. The 1.9 TDI and 1.6 are known to be very very reliable.
@@thomassankara8494 only first versions of bkd (
Totally right, especially the MPI not FSI :-)
@@carfanatic99 But they are both illegal to drive in public roads.. No filters and not Euro 5 or better.
How the lights go on? When you press the key? 🤔 i have 2 audis 2008 and 2010 and now one do that
This one has the coming/leaving home option, which turns on the lights when unlocking the car. And leaves them on when exiting the car, after locking it, for a while.
There might be a button on your light switch that looks like a clock
just turned 18 and thinking about buying a 2006/2009 a3 audi the price is good it’s probably one of the fastest i could get for the price and just wondering if there’s any reason i should stay away or to rethink
Depends on the engine, which one you have in mind?

Good question, I can’t figure it out either. Do you have any ideas?

Ugly one
I'm thinig to buy for first car the 1.6 audi a3 2007 is it good? Any opinion is good. Also this car is the 1.8L? Thanks
Did you get it then? Any feedback?
I have Audi a3 2006 1.9tdi, it's great. Bought it as a first car too.
@@kristijanmargarin9626 Did you have to fix anything ?
@@MultiGames4Younah, it's been almost a year that I have it and almost nothing, just losing some little oil but non special
@@hishaamadam1460I have one as my first car I’m on 4,600 for insurance a year fastest I’ve been is 120 in 5th gear 5k revs but conferrable car and had no problems with the car since I got it a year ago (insurance might be different since I live in a city)
4:08 Why do you have to keep your foot on the clutch? Do you know it's manual? XD
To pull away in gear? 😏
Do you know it's a manual? 😂
@@Jack-sy8hs I mean, when you're at a red traffic light and you keep your foot on the clutch with the first gear. Now you got it?
@@andrei.victorGM yes? You need it down otherwise the car will stall
Bro Kia Proceed 1 or Audi A3 8P?
Hey! In my opinion the build quality, engine choice and ride comfort of the A3 exceed the Kia by far! So my choice would definitely be the Audi A3 8P my friend.
Hey met hoeveel toeren rijd ie gemiddeld rond de 130 kmh?

How many KM did this one have?
155K!
Is this a reliable engine?
Yes totally, one of the best engines ever built by the vw group! The 1.6 MPI, because the 1.6 FSI is a nightmare for most people…
@@carfanatic99 le 1.6 mpi c'est avant 2008 c'est ça ??
@@s1boko428 2003-2012!
@@carfanatic99 et comment faire la différence ?? Le mpi c'est celui de 102hp?
@@carfanatic99 why would say it's a nightmare? I drive the 1.6 fsi and I don't have any serious issues but I wanna hear your opinion. Only thing is that at low RPM (1k -2.5k) car feels a bit sluggish when hard accelerating but above 3k RPM is good
