PLM-ERP-MES

The implementation of PLM and MES is a frequently discussed topic today.
With digitization and the change from ETO (Engineering To Order) and STO (Select To Order) to CTO (Configure To Order), this topic became a priority. An important reason for this is to be found in the classical ERP data model.
It is not suitable to fully map a CTO order processing process.
This makes the interaction of PLM, ERP and MES increasingly important.

100% material from plm to erp does not solve the part number explosion….

unfortunately, the comment is too general. the question is at which structural levels is there an explosion of material numbers?
