About Animal Kingdom:
In Animal Kingdom Season 5, Pope, Craig, Deran and J still are dealing with the fallout from the events surrounding Smurf’s death, including family members out for revenge. With their kingdom without a leader, the Codys struggle to maintain their fragile alliance, and to see which of them will come out on top. Meanwhile, they search for more information on Pamela Johnson, whom Smurf made the beneficiary of her estate. And back in 1984, an increasingly volatile 29-year-old Smurf is forging her own path raising Pope and Julia and leading the charge on dangerous jobs with new and old friends.

J and Daren looked like two Navy seals jumping across those roof tops.
First episode was amazing and this new director is earning his keep..I could hear Smurf whispering in popes ear "You're weak, you need me" after he let his cousin live. That was a mistake and I believe it's gonna come back to hurt him later. The flash backs to younger Smurf shows her distain for Julia even at a young age. The cop telling Deran "this woulda never happened if Smurf was alive" shows just how much power Smurf really had..Next episode should be amazing, can't wait to see how the boys handle Pamela and her newly acquired "empire"..
Julia had rational thinking and challenged her. Bet you smurf got her hooked on drugs to suppress the rationality lol

I like how J’s actually speaking up this season, tired of playing second fiddle to smurf and his uncle’s, this will be his Kingdom in the end.
I just don't see how. I don't think Daren and pope would ever follow him and Craig will do whatever his brothers do. They definitely need him, but following him is another story.
@@aaronbrutus9483 I think Pope will definitely follow J. He knows J is the closest thing he has to smurf in terms of running the business, and he knows that he himself ain’t built to run things like that. Deran just seems like he’s jealous of J due to J being the “baby” of the family.
@@Geeandrezzi I agree with ya opinion more it’s seems more likely at this point in the story. I feel like Pope always needs someone keeping him in check like previous seasons and this season I think it will be J.
@@ayevert5128 yea. Plus I think Pope feels like he owes J lowkey. Whatever smurf did to Julia, it made Pope turn his back on his twin and he knows it’s his fault that Julia is dead.

Seeing the flashback in this ep was better than last season's. If they go the exposition flashback route this season, i wanna see it all! And i want the flash back in the season finale to be the first ep where J called smurf about Julia's death via overdose.
I wanna see:
-smurf meeting daren's and Craig's fathers. How she/pope and their lunacy ran them off.
-i wanna see more into pope's deranged behaviour. Especially protecting his younger siblings and julia.
-I wanna see how they met Baz and what happened with Pope and catherine as teens. Are we sure pope wasn't Lena's bio dad? When did Baz meet Lucy and start cheating behind Catherine's back?
-i wanna see J's life living with Julia, the addict. Why did smurf have Julia's pix in the fake apartment? How did Julia and Smurf become estranged? Did smurf pimp her out or resented Julia and Catherine and any females around? Including the angela lady from last season? (Emlily Deschanel). Why did she give young julia booze to shut her up about pope's differences.
-i wanna see pope burn down Catherine's house and kill her parents.
-I wanna see smurf cultivate her relationships with her criminal friends.
-i wanna see addict julia rant to J about the stuff smurf did, which allowed his resentment of smurf to fester.
Glad that Nick Stahl is back in the acting business looks like he got it together and stayed sober from his drug addiction in the past

Pretty stupid of the cousins to come back and try to wipe out the cody's even after getting their gold back, it's also pretty stupid that pope didnt first get the gold before offing his cousin (which he didnt do)...Everyones making stupid decisions lol
Understand why he didn't get the gold. Like he told his brothers and his cousins, it was all Smurf. Now she's gone, he is free....
@@8mile791 The gold has nothing to do with that.. the cousins are dead except the one, had pope gotten the gold and then killed the cousin they would be good. Now the cousin has the resources/money to come back on the codys

Pissed me the hell of that he(pope) let him live, and he didn't even take the back the gold at least. But we all know pope is stupid like that, always needs to be told what to do. I love pope, but I hate that he's so stupid.
I cant wait for the fight scene between J and Darren. Its been a long time coming.

It's going to be too hard for J to get them to follow him. The family dynamic will really have to change (i.e Pope or Craig dying.) Deran feels that he can do what J does in terms of being able to run a business and plan jobs. Plus he is level-headed, and already has established relationships. J will have to really show his ability to find jobs, build a network, and honestly show he is more ruthless in order to be even considered for the top spot.
Scene looks pretty tough. Looks like the sons just came to terms with smurfs death. Jay mans up yet again.

They Better get Deran and Adrian back together this season
Finding it hard to get into this season without Adrian. He was such a favorite ... even though he made the life- changing mistake of trying to make "easy" money for his surfing and so as not to depend on Deran, he always came across as innocent and so decent.
Their relationship was something else ... they made it "must see". The writers did a really shitty thing by the fans.

@@tinawelch5524 Adrian was seen on camera at the airport leaving, well after departure. But he left with another identity that Deran obtained for him. So it will take the FBI a while to track him. He is headed to a non-extradition country so not sure where the notion he's in prison came from.

This episode does not encourage viewership. I hope the writers can do more with the scripts, this one did not hit the mark. Too much going back to earlier years, the guys are adults now and should have some adult relationships, as they continue their heists.
