- 278 days after capturing the 2023 CIF-Los Angeles City Section Division 2 championship, the San Pedro High girls basketball team in a special ceremony in their gymnasium… received their championship rings and revealed their championship banner on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 in a special on-campus ceremony during halftime of their 2023-2024 home opener against visiting South East of South Gate. Here is the full ceremony of the players getting their rings announced by yours truly, and the assistant coaches/school administrators also receiving rings by head coach Kevin Simpson. The Lady Pirates went on to defeat the visiting Jaguars, 61-36 in nonleague action. #CIFLACS
