Why It’s So Important To Check Your Air Intake Filter Regularly On Your Honda Talon 1000x4

What’s up everybody. In todays video I will be replacing the old air filter on my recently purchased 2020 Honda Talon 1000x4. It is extremely important to keep a close eye on the air filter since the Honda Talon air intake inlet is right above the right side rear tire which floods the airbox with tons of dust, dirt, and debris. I highly recommend buying a higher quality washable filter as this will save you money over time.

Riding in the southwest desert, i could go through a filter in 200 miles. A particle separator (S&B or KWT) is the only real answer for these cars. For me personally, i wouldn’t consider the cotton filter until after adding the separator.
There are a number of flaws with this air box design and the less you need to open it up the better.
Also, if you don’t already know, there was a recall to check the screws on the clamps of the two intake cones to ensure they can not come loose and get sucked in. Just fyi.

The Honda filter comes with two giant rubber o rings that go around the lid of the air box and under the filter. You REALLY GOING TO Want to replace those every time or two when you clean and oil the K&N. Remember it is clean and oil. Not just clean.
