Clorox Bleach what are you expecting for 20 bucks? I'm sure you haven't even beat it so maybe go replay the witcher 3. Last game I played for the story was bioshock infinite.
yup the dead give away for me was the bunny head guy. how he floats around like giving commentary like the guy from afro samurai. plus the giant bunny head and the giat teddy bear hear.
Carpenter Brut is NOT the composer of The Song's boss theme (boss 6)! That would be Toxic Avenger, with the song name being the same as the walking segment just before it - "Make This Right"
Best way to describe this game, I have only beaten the first two bosses, but the story is kinda interesting and I love that there is an option for Japanese dialogue (which sounds Way cooler then English)
Hardest bosses are the third (time guy) and the sniper chick (her bullet-time phase is HARD). Also I thought the english dub's where better imo, rabbit dude and **MILD SPOILERS** samurai dude at the end are fantastic in their voices. If you're having a hard time at the beginning dw it will get easier. You get the hang of the game/fights and, in my opinion bosses 3 and 4 are the hardest. Squid dudes bullet time is hard af too.
@@catlivesmatter8843 They pretty much complained that it forced you to learn general mechanics and that it was too challenge. I bet y'all $10 that they were playing on promenade.
This is a truly fantastic game. First play through was tough but fun. It took me about 5 hours. Second play through took just under 2 hours. My 3rd was the speed run and I finished in under 1 hour. It really is all about practice, patience, and pattern recognition. If you feel like giving up just take a break and try again, you will do better. Hard mode will kick your ass though. I'm serious, it's brutal.
One of the best games of all time, you gain no powers or skills, you just get better, the speedrun mode is awesome to, the music is on point and the artstyle is top notch
I completed each boss on S rank, in both difficulties and i can tell that its always fair, if you study the bosses long enough you can dodge each and every attack
I hope the developer is seeing this, this game is something we really wanted, I miss when you have to face tough bosses and get the satisfaction from beating them, now most games are easy and don't offer any boss fights, thank you for making this game and the soundtrack is amazing
After playing a large portion of the game, I started thinking that these characters looks an awful lot like they were pulled from Afro Samurai.. The story almost seems relatable too. After doing a bit more research, I then realized that it is in fact, the same designer.. No wonder these designs all have weird heads.. I love it.
By the end of your review, you made the point. What seemed to be so frustrating during your 1st "bossthrough", was actually just great. Coming back as a killer in such a game after having defeated all the bosses is just so fun. And the 1st time, it only takes a few attempts by boss for each thus just a bit more of knowledge and skills needed for each. Not a "die-1OO times-and- retry" kind like some niche games can be...
It's a challenging game, indeed. I just started up my 2nd playthrough on Furier (hard) mode and have beaten the first two bosses so far. It's all about pattern recognition and staying between the lines... er bullets. And reflexes. Best free game I've ever gotten from PSN so far!
Imo this game is a 10/10 brilliant art style fluid combat and a weirdly compelling story some bosses after watching the cut scenes you did not want to kill and I disagree that the scenery is to much I feel as it is just right and really compliments the game and develops a great story I really hope more games like this release and are as polished as this one. Furi is a masterpiece
this game is hard and challenging in smart way . but what makes this game such a unique game the original soundtracks .. overall it is great and deserve to give it a try in the end ( Furi = digital drugs )
I don't understand why. Nothing bad was said, but I think he's looking at it like a triple A title, and not a small indie studio making a badass beautiful game. 9.5/10 for me.
This game is awesome. I rated 9/10 because is get repetitive in the last bosses. Is the challenge of killing hard bosses that keep it interesting. I Love the art, Afro samurai was awesome
Gamespot, can you please start listing what platform(s) the games you review are on rather than just _Captured on xxx_ ? I shouldn't have to go Google it when I'm watching a review already.
this game is amazing for hard fights that seem impossible the game punishes you but you learn through it making every difficult situation simple through hard effort and its great for that its so amazing really hope to see more games done by the developer and games looking nice like this... for some reason it reminds me of rwby didnt see any of the ep expect first 3 so idk but the game looks so gorgeous and lovely the plot was great but how unfortunate for the games ending knowing all you did could had been avoided earlyer and STILL SO MUCH NOT LEFT UNANSWERED
Pretty much all Jrpg's have been turned into some form of this now albiet much easier. It's much more simple to understand, and the western audience isn't getting any smarter. That's why most western rpg's are very lax on math, stats, focused narrative, anything that might require an attention span, or problem solving beyond find key to open door.
+Cody Clark You serious? I play both JRPGs and WRPGs, and both have things in them that severely dumb down the experience. Also, in terms of narrative/plot/story and characters, the west has, overall, dominated in that regard for about a decade.
Kos Mos Yea i guess so...i dont know why people are focused sooo much on the story, visuals, how cinematic it looks....im fine with games like The Last of Us and such...but lets be real, those games are walking, talking, walking, and then a gun fight that lasts 3 min, and thats okay, but i want to see more games with stylish action with 1000 of combos, where you have to have skill to beat an enemy/Boss, where gameplay is the main selling point... Sadly many off those games dont get their much deserved recognition.
Daakkuu Sama I KNOWWW RIGHT?!?!?!?! Like okay it wasnt the tightest combat system (very mashy) but they could have just improved it for the next game.......No now easy money is making The Last of Us type games......Now a brutal ruthless Kratos has a deep character? Oh look how deep he is blah blah. And that camera, OH GOD CAN IT BE ZOOMED IN MORE? I dont know, i feel those are types of games for people who dont like to PLAY games. God of War?......more like The Dad of Us
On a scale of 1 to 10, Furi is an 11. And I'd give it a 12.
BeeSawd yep!
BeeSawd in did ma boy
ha, ha.
i understood that reference
Rabbit man is best man!
Gamespot knows how to review games compared to IGN. IGN gave this game a 6.8 smh.
Too much water/batmobile 5.5/10
Because it's a pretty bland and boring game with barely any story and somewhat clunky controls
Clorox Bleach what are you expecting for 20 bucks? I'm sure you haven't even beat it so maybe go replay the witcher 3. Last game I played for the story was bioshock infinite.
Thats why I call them IGNorant
*cough* Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze *cough*
A incredbile masterpiece. Can't believe this game was free. It is easily one of the greatest games I have ever played.
Free?
@@SalvageET was*😥
man that game is hard af
did u play dark souls? lol
+Yann Plays people will say this is harder and DS isn't that hard.
Yann Plays haha this is way harder than simple old DS
+Yann Plays I did. And dark souls was a ton easier then some of the crap these bosses pull.
U for unoriginal yeah i would say so, though this game isn't that hard either but it is hard.
The Character models almost like the futuristic versions of Afro Samurai, overall, its good.
same designer
yup the dead give away for me was the bunny head guy. how he floats around like giving commentary like the guy from afro samurai. plus the giant bunny head and the giat teddy bear hear.
Damn this game was such a surprise for me...
best ps+ title I've played so far
Yeah, Furi and Rocket league are my favourites.
+Petit broforce is cool too
Jack The SNAKE this game have a good story
A competent reviewer. Nice review.
was that some Carpenter Brut I heard?
yep
It's the entire soundtrack
+Silver Fang Not true during the battles press start and it tells who made them. As far as I remember he only had 2 songs in this game
Carpenter Bruts songs are in the battles against the 2nd, 6th and 7th bosses
Carpenter Brut is NOT the composer of The Song's boss theme (boss 6)! That would be Toxic Avenger, with the song name being the same as the walking segment just before it - "Make This Right"
Furi should have been nominated for best Independent game for the Game Awards and no nomination for Dark Souls III? The Game Awards are for casuals.
The game awards are mainstream that's why most of the nominees are the biggest AAA games

I was stuck on the sniper chick for 2hrs then i went to sleep and beat her in one try, same for the Sound/Godess lmao
beautiful, hard and fun! what else you people want it's 9.7/10 for me
for me too
+gabriel caldeira my only complaint is the lag on the dash button
theres no lag
the dash is executed once you release the button
not when you first press it
better than igns review
By a country mile.
yea IGN butchered this game to hell
@@catlivesmatter8843 They pretty much complained that it forced you to learn general mechanics and that it was too challenge. I bet y'all $10 that they were playing on promenade.
This game is now 55% off on the Eshop until April 11 2019. So in the US it now $8.99 from the $19.99 retail price. If interested now the best time
love this game..very impressed
I love it as well. Quite a nice surprise
This looks insane..
There is also a secret boss! When you finish the game, go to the building!

IGN 6.8-10 -too hard and inconsistent
Fuck IGN
Fuck shitty IGN.
Kono dio da!
"Forces you learn a set of moves."
I was so focused on the beautiful and chaotic visuals that I didn't see the number score at the end of the video the first time through.
I completed each boss on S rank, in both difficulties and i can tell that its always fair, if you study the bosses long enough you can dodge each and every attack
tracer simulator 2016
now this is way better then IGN's review, respect the games you review IGN
You kidding? this game is 100/10 it was something completely new

so they fused project lucian and yasuo, which they then made into a video game, nice.
( to the league players)
It looks so much like the _Afro Samurai_ game to me
Even has the Gino lookalike.
The guy who made afro samurai or whatever designed all the characters
1st level stressed me out cant imagine the rest
dude i was thinking the same thing i fought the first boss and was like hellnaw b
Lol. First boss is easiest
I started the game on 2nd difficulty
It's a challenging game, indeed. I just started up my 2nd playthrough on Furier (hard) mode and have beaten the first two bosses so far. It's all about pattern recognition and staying between the lines... er bullets. And reflexes. Best free game I've ever gotten from PSN so far!

Love the art style in Furi
"The journey to become a better fighter" ...that sounds about right :)
Man this game is so much fun. The Edge was such a great boss fight. When this video ends I'm gonna go play it again.
The parry window isn't inconsistent, the attack speed of the boss is. Most people realize this. None of the reviewers have it seems.
This review is so personal I love it.

The difficulty and the good music remind me of Hotline Miami!
just started the game, very good so far
It's like Super Hexagon and Ikaruga had a baby.
The time in-between fights is brutal
The soundtrack!! OMG!

I've got to get back into this game and play as the DLC girl next time.
Beat the story rank A: worth it and I’m going all the way to 100%
"New and mlre challenging phase of combat" Showed The Beat. GG
Finally Afro Samurai gets a good game
Im so glad this game has a easy mode.
you guys really need to make the score more noticeable. I can't count the number of times I miss the score because it's so discreet when it shows up.
The art style is right lush. And it looks like so much fun. But no thanks, I lack the concentration to master it.
This the action and gameplay that Afro Samurai game should have had, minus being able to shoot.
it looks like hyper light drifter a bit
Misha completely different play style
Misha also good taste in profile pics my dude
Fun little game, but i really don't like the slow parts between battles ...
I feel like Furi would make an amazing rpg.
no
no, absolutely no! Not everything has to be watered down with rpg-elements. The point is that you have to become stronger, not your virtual avatar.

this vs DS vs ninja gaiden, which one is the hardest?
this game game is really hard, nija gaiden is hard, but at lest its enjoyable , i hate an overly hard game with no upgrades
